As much as I would love to sample all the awesome cuisine at WDW, my DH is quite picky.

My question is this: Can he choose an entree from the menu, but then request that it be served without something like you would at a normal restaurant? Like he orders nachos but doesn't want quacamole. Do WDW restaurants have that capability for substitutions or are their menus etched in stone?

Yup. I know what you're going through because DF goes through it with me. Disney is very accommodating with that. We've gone to many TS's throughout the Disney and I'll usually ask for something without this, or could I have this instead of this? Haven't been told no yet. I'm the kind of person who orders tacos with just the meat and shell, nothing else. It raises eyebrows, but I get it how I like it. You're DH shouldn't have a problem. :thumbsup2

I agree. I'm very picky and had no problems with WDW food. They were very accomodationg to my odd desires for no sauces or toppings. :goodvibes

I am a very picky eater. When we dined at the Garden Grill at the Land, I asked if the steak could be served with the sauce on the side, and the turkey with the relish on the side. I knew the other guests in my party would like those things, but I don't. I quickly, but quietly explained to our server that I prefer my foods not to touch. Instead of serving them on the side, she brought out the 'platters' for everyone else, and she brought out 3 special plates for me, with all the food W A Y apart and not touching!

Same - I've never had a problem substituting things or asking that certain things be left over. I've even been able to combine things from the children's menu into my adult entree. You guys should be just fine! :)

Disney is so accomodating, I'm not even sure their menus are etched in sand! Using your example of the nachos, WCC describes their nachos as "corn chips smothered with our hearty beef chili, cheddar cheese, sour cream, tomatoes and green onions," but my children wanted them with just chips and cheese, so that's what they got. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Disney World is THE most acommodating places for substitutions or deletions. There are very few dishes that you have to get exactly as printed on the menu. My husband hates mashed potatoes. If they are listed as a side for his entree, he usually will have his pick of any other side printed anywhere on that menu for a substitution. Sometimes, when he asks, he'll even get other options (like rice). There has been exactly ONE meal in all our trips to Disney World where my husband hasn't made any special requests. One. If he gets a salad, he asks if the tomatoes are chopped or sliced. If chopped, they aren't on his salad. Same for cucumbers. He might see a sandwich he's interested in and it'll come with some sort of strange condiment on it. Not for him.

Asking for no guacamole with nachos is actually a very simple request for Disney World.

:goodvibes Thank you so much everyone! He was freaking out looking at some of the places I wanted to eat. He just keeps saying, "Don't they just have a steak there." :lmao: Knowing what you guys have told me, though, will help greatly!

Thanks!!

We have had no problems either. :) Both dh and I are picky eaters. We were able to get fries with steaks if we wanted, no suaces when we did not want them, etc...

At WCC they even made me a special plate of cheese fries which were so good! They have done this for the past 2 years for me.
