Congratulations!
We enjoyed the proximity to TTC. It was great for Epcot and MK. That side of the resort is also nice for the Poly buses.
From Moorea (only PVB building with lake view), it is a shorter walk to GCH walking between the buildings. However, I enjoyed the walk along the lagoon significantly more. Very relaxing and so much to see.
You will not be able to see the entire Electric Water Pageant from your room. If you want to see it, the beach area near the pool has a nice view. From there, you can also see the MK fireworks.
For room requests, most people ask for high floor because floors 2 and 3 can see over the bungalows. Most ground floor lagoon view rooms only see the lagoon in front of the bungalows and lagoon between the bungalows. In sports terminology, first floor would be called obstructed view.
The laundry room is located in the same longhouse as all of the PVB lagoon view rooms (Moorea).
You may not need them, but I recommend bringing some ear plugs. Some lagoon view rooms seem to have less sound proofing than others. The ferry boat can be very noisy.
We never order room service, but decided to order the Ohana Feast to our lake/lagoon view room (maybe 30 minutes before fireworks). It was one of our best meals/experiences at WDW. We enjoyed the great food while watching the fireworks.
