This is like the blind leading the blind. Because I can't say exactly why it happened, but I can review what happened. It was a while back now, so I can only recollect. I called s/d and asked about getting a teacher discount rate at about 4 or 5 pm Eastern Standard time. I was sad to hear the woman say that there was a convention, that there were not going to be rooms available for under $303 or something like that. I was calling back to inquire if there might be a change and if it was worth calling back; if that situation was permanent, etc. I called back at about 8 or 8:30. I explained that I was aware that there was a convention during the dates, which I then stated, that we were hoping we could book at the dolphin. The woman said to wait a minute and she'd check. She said that she was aware that there was going to be a convention at that time, but that she would check on the availability of teacher discounted rooms. She said that some were available. So, I booked one. I did not ask for an explanation about why one was available.
On these chat boards someone suggested something plausible. At a certain time of day, the computers might get updated. Who knows.
