We are WDW regulars and I am feeling a bit lost. I read the long post and have gotten a few answers. But I am still stuck with which hotel.

We are considering

PPH 2 nights theme park view concierge
or
GCH standard room

Any thoughts???

Nobody can make that decision for you, so what do you want? We would like to help if we knew.

Often these two accomodations have similiar pricing.

If you stay at the PPH will you make good use of the concierge ammenities? With only two days I would guess not really. That's a short DLR visit and you should focus on the parks.

Oops, I misread your original pot, my bad, didn't think you had read that yet.

Disneyland is so much less about staying on property than it is about the parks. There are pictures of each hotel on the website and descriptions of the amenities, there are also posts here that describe each hotel and the amenities. I really enjoyed 5 days at Disneyland in the Embassy Suites just as much as I enjoyed WDW in the CBR Pirate themed room. We actually spent some time in our room at WDW, so it mattered, but we barely spent any waking time at all in the room here at Disneyland, so it didn't.

You have to decide what's important to you. Personally I'd stay at a far less expensive hotel and add 2 more days to the trip.

If I lived close then I may tend to agree with you(kinda) but I do not so the Grand is part of our vacation experience and we usually do a week at a time. I personally do not find the hotel/motel experience around the park adequate. There should be places that are nice and close to the park without the BW, Holiday experience but there are not. With our work a week is the best we can do all year.
