Hey everyone. New to DCL and hoping someone has some pictures. I’ve searched the forum and read up on deck 10 mid and the noise. We’ve done top deck on other cruise lines and can deal with the noise. I’m looking at a family verandah for a 2021 Halloween themed 5 day. I’ve read mixed reviews on the overhang and obstructing views in pics. Can anyone provide examples? I’m compiling a list of room numbers with a Murphy bed and starboard if you have suggestions. Thanks!

We have cruised multiple times on the Fantasy/Dream and have stayed in stateroom 10580 on both of the ships. It is mid-ship, starboard side and has space for 5 - queen, sofa, upper bunk, and Murphy bed. We actually think that the overhang is nice because it provides some protection from the sun and rain (when it occurs). You will hear some noise from Deck 11, but that has not discouraged us from staying there repeatedly. It is a great location. In addition, if you need them, the laundry facilities on Deck 10 are close enough to be very convenient, but far enough away to not be a noise problem. I usually don't have pictures with the overhang visible as it is very easy not to get it in the shot; however, in August I purposely took this one showing the overhang and rail with the rainbow that appeared after a brief shower.

Because I almost always book GTY rates, I have ended up on Deck 10 on both the Dream and the Fantasy multiple times. I actually like it and have never really had issues with sound or noise etc. I do like being higher up on the ship as well as it is convenient to the upper decks where we spend most of our time.

I do have to say, I preferred being Deck 10 Aft over Mid because the carpets in Cabanas tend to muffle the noise of the chairs being moved around. If you are an incredibly light sleeper, I wouldn't recommend deck 10 but it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

As mentioned above, the overhang blocks a bit of view but nothing dramatic. The only exception to this is if you are on the fireworks side of the ship. You cant see the fireworks from the rooms on deck 10 because of the overhang but otherwise its lovely.

We've cruised Fantasy 10572 3 times, 10578 1 time, Dream 10078 1 time, 10588 one time and 10578 this week (yay!). There's enough overhang to provide shade in the afternoon, but not enough to block views. Honestly the security rail is the biggest obstruction. Always in my eyeline!

ETA: We're a party of 5 and when we're in one room, prefer CAT 4A

The below was from Fantasy 10572 on our recent 11 Night Southern Caribbean

We were on the Fantasy on Deck 10, Forward. While I can't contest to noise, we loved it. The overhang was really nice because it protected our verandah from the sun. On the lower decks, we could see the sun blazing on the balcony. We also had some rain on a couple days. It was nice being able to sit on the verandah sun free/rain free, regardless of the time of day.
