1st timer at GC questions

We are normally all about the budget, but upcoming trip next month we are staying at GC thanks to the recent discounts.

We have never stayed there and I was wondering about how long it takes to get to DL. This is our first trip with DD without a stroller, she is 5 and just wondering if its easier/faster to go to DTD and do the monorail to Tomorrowland park entrance. Of course I love Main Street and there is nothing like that grand entrance, but thinking this might be a good option as well.

Any other tips for first timers at GC? We have been to Disneyland twice, stayed at a Sheraton one year and Candy Cane Inn....both were fine BTW, we are just splurging.

5 minute walk to the gates. Just a tad longer from going to the monorail.

Or if the DCA is open cut through there. All depends on where you are in the GC

It depends quite a bit where your room is, 5-10 minutes. For the Monorail it will only help if you are going to or leaving from Tomorrowland. It takes some time and for the most part plan on walking.

Use the hotel entrance into DCA.

not to mention that the monorails only hold so many people so if its busy you could end up watching a couple go by before you get on...
