So I was reading the very informative superthread on Fantasmic but I don't think it mentioned anything about the after summer crowds unless I missed it. Therefore I was hoping to get some feedback on watching the show after the summer crowds die down.

We're thinking of going in the middle of Sept and it would be me, my wife, and my two young kids. I was thinking of getting reserved seating but considering that the corwds should be less, I was hoping to get feedback from the veterans. Should we actually spend the money and get the reserved seating or will finding open seating be just fine?

I ask because I don't really know how much less the crowds will be. I was there in Dec 2010 when the park was turning people away so I know what it si when it's full but I can't say that I've been there immediately after the summer crowds.

Any feedback is much appreciated.

In the offseason F! only runs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. So it's still busy, not as bad as during Spring break weekends or summer weekends, but still busy. The ideas and advice in the superthread still apply.

The F! desert package has a lot of fans, and a lot that say it's too pricey for what you get.

Don't do it to beat crowds, do it for the experience of sitting in a reaserved area on chairs with deserts.

Once you get to September Fantasmic will be weekends only. And the crowds will be comparable to summer.
