1st time using the AP - Parking

Which is exactly what I made a point in saying in 2002 when they charged me, because the guy out front said "What you do is you pay now, when you get your pass, go to guest relations and they'll give you your money back." Then when I got my pass I asked Guest Services and they said no, and I guess they tried to explain it to me as it was explained here, but I didn't care because I had a voucher and the guy out front said I would get my $7 back. So I went to Guest Relations, they refused to give me my money back, I said well you need to fire the guy out front because he said I would get my money back. So we went back and fourth until they got fed up with me and gave me my $7 back.

I mean they already were paid their money, I had the annual pass voucher in my hand, that was my Annual Pass until it was in Plastic Form with my picture on it. That was what I argued.

This is true, but...how do you prove you're turning in your voucher that day? I agree, by the way...but I'm just saying, the fact is, you can't prove you ARE redeeming it. Karen :smooth:

Why else would you go to the park with it? So you can sit at CityWalk all day or sit in the Parking Deck? I can just see people who go pay $8 for parking and have an annual pass voucher who just sit at CityWalk. Come on common sense would suggest that, especially when they drive up in an out of state car.

I guess theres really no way of proving you are redeeming the voucher, but they should definately reimburse your parking fee. Dont a couple of the restaurants at City Walk reimburse/validate parking if you eat there for lunch or during the hours you have to pay for parking?

I didn't say that was the reason someone might not be redeeming the voucher. Think about it, you're local...I'm local...maybe all of my friends and family from the northeast come down and buy 2 or 3 day passes, or whatever passes that don't include parking. Wouldn't it be awfully nice of me to let them use one of our extra vouchers to receive free parking on the days they are there? That would save them $24 or so for each 3 day pass. They wouldn't be redeeming them. There is nothing on a voucher that says who it belongs to.

But you know what, there are times we've gone to the parking garage before 6 when it's free, to go to a movie or to an event at Citywalk, so it DOES happen that people get free parking (or would have to pay for parking if they didn't have an AP) and don't enter a park. Just because you don't do it, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
Believe it or not, sometimes we go to Citywalk to dine too, in which case, it sure is handy having free parking!

Cinamin, I'm not sure about validating, I believe there is free valet parking for lunch at certain spots, of course, you'd have to tip, but I don't think there is a way to validate per se since you pay on the way in...

It's math.

since we pre-purchased several at $99 each...but of course, we didn't loan them to anyone to try to "beat the system" either.

The parking attendants are not supposed to give you free parking with the paper ticket/voucher. Of course, that is in Pleasantville. A lot of times the parking attendant will just avoid the hassle of arguing with you and let you in to park for free with your voucher, leading people to beleive that that is policy.

And thanks for catching on to the 365/366 days thing i was trying to relay, MsDisney.

We had our vouchers and did not have to pay to park!!! We just showed them the vouchers and they gave us our parking stub and let us in!!
