Going to Universal for the first time in mid october. Major disney veteran. What should I expect?
Mainly going for Harry Potter. Thinking of a 4-5 night trip.
Any tips for me for my trip?
Staying onsite but have not decided on a hotel yet.:rotfl:

avoid the weekends if you are not a HHN fan.

weekends will have more crowds than during the week.

studios will close at 5:00 am on hhn dates.
ioa, later.

Personally I wouldn't do more than 3 nights at Universal it probably doesn't merit it. The parks are great but small and there are only two. 1 day each park and 1 day to redo favorites is more the enough

Our first trip involved two full days and two partial days. Left wanting more. We're worki g towards the time that uni takes up more time than wdw.

Some like the ambiance and re-rides more than others. I think 4-5 nights sounds great especially onsite. Their hotels are fabulous!

i'm just the opposite.
will be there for 11 days and will enjoy every minute of it!

I want some time to hang by the pool and go to City Walk and the Bars. It will be my first post divorce all girl trip with my mom and sister.

To each their own..We did 5 nights last trip and are doing 7 nights in a few weeks..We like to tour the parks leisurely over 4 days, do a day at seaworld and spend some downtime at the resorts..Pool hopping is encouraged so that gives us plenty of things to do

Sounds nice! Remember that they encourage pool-hopping between resorts, so don't let pools be your only way of choosing a hotel!

I really like the look of the pool at the HRH

HRH is our favorite onsite hotel at US. It is very close to US, only a 3-4 min walk from the pool exit.

Even though you are going in Oct, I would stay on site. On site gives you an hour early entry into WWoHP, unlimited express pass and location, makes staying onsite worth it for us.

I'm working on our first trip also. Can't wait to hear what u decided and the advice you get

I don't know if I want to do Halloween Horror Night yet, I am kinda of sissy when it comes to haunted houses but I love horror movies lol

The beauty of a Universal hotel is it makes your trip even more relaxing. You can do the parks and wander back to the resort when you feel like it for some pool time.

I wouldn`t choose a resort for the pool as others have said pool hopping is encouraged at Universal.

We love the RPR and won`t stay anywhere else, for us it`s by far the nicest of all 3 resorts, but find the theme you like best and stay there. We never pool hop as the pool at RP suits us down to the ground and never feel the need to go elsewhere. It`s fun without being rowdy and has a great atmosphere.......Bula Bar has amazing food and some nice cocktails too ::yes::
Staff are just amazing and make you feel so welcome...we never want to leave...

As for HHN......you should try it.......it is SO much fun. Yes the houses can be......a bit intense.......but we love it and can`t wait to get back after missing a couple of years........and I am a real woose.......will jump at my own shadow

Hope you have a great trip wherever you decide to book :wave2:
