I am due to go in 3 weeks and as this is our first time, am wanting to get as much help with the whole procedure as possible. We are using alamo and have ordered an 8 seater people carrier. Can anyone give me some hints and tips as to what has worked for you, and what to avoid. :hyper:

Watch out for the smooth talking dude on the car rental desk they try to sell you lots of extras that you already have on don't need! See Debs posts on Alamo at MCO -they tried to sell her an upgrade and when she went to collect her car the upgrade they tried to sell her was in her category anyway(if that makes sense)!! :teeth:

Try and avoid pre-paying for a full tank of petrol - opt to return the car full.

If you prepay you not only pay a high rate but it's difficult to return the car empty.

Hi thegirlyarwood and welcome to the Dis :)

3 weeks' time? How lovely :)

Where are you staying?

As to your question, I hope this thread will be helpful. If you have any other question, please don't hesitate to ask! We are a friendly bunch and normally someone knows the answer :)

Thanks for the information.

We are staying in Kissimmee in a Thomas Cook Signature Villa, have no details of this yet but have been told the address will be given to us on the tickets as we need this anyway for immigration.

We are taking our 2 sons, aged 2 1/2 and 5 (birthday 2 days after we arrive so will be 6). This is the main reason we all want to be organised.

I dont know whether anyone out there has experience of these Villas, I have found lots about the Virgin Villa's but not Thomas Cook ( is this a case of no news is good news?)

I would have assumed that a TC Signature villa would be nice! But I don't know for sure.

It might be worth starting a new thread and asking :)

Have a good map with you at all times.
