Hi - I'm not much of a writer but here goes - 1st Trip to Disney - I'm a mom, 35 & my son is 13. Flew to Orlando on May 30th. 1st time flying for myself & son. Flew on Northwest & all flights were on time & uneventfull. Picked up by Tiffany's, driver's name was Sam. Very polite & helful. Even made an unscheduled stop on the way back to the airport so my son could try to find a florida keychain. Thursday morning we went to MK early morning 7:30. We rode Alien, Space Mntn, Buzz Lightyear, & Splash Mntn all before 10am! Had to convince my 13 yr old son to go to the Haunted Mansion & it ended up being one of his favorite rides in the park! Rode in the front car of Splash & got soaked but it felt great in the heat. Stayed in the park till around 7pm or so & went back to the resort All Star Movies. Ended up with blisters the 1st day!! Had the mole skin with me though & used that for the rest of the trip - it was a lifesaver! Friday went to Animal Kingdom and were admitted to the park around 7:45am. Went on the safari first then Coundown to Extinction, Pangani Forest, conservaton station, Kali River Rapids & a bunch more. We liked this park especially the gorillas that you could see on the Pangani Forest Exploration trail. Left this park around 1pm & went to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot for the rest of the day. Started pouring rain by the time we reached the monorail but luckily we did pack the rain ponchos that day! Was drizzily at Epcot but there are so many buildings/rides to go into it really didn't bother us at all. Saturday went back to Epcot & did the world showcase, ate a Norway (the Maelstrom was shut down till June 8th for some reason so we missed that) & watch ToN which we really liked. We used the singles line on TestTrack & walked right on! We even got to ride in the same car the 1st time we rode & the second time were seperated by 1 car. Very fun ride. Sunday did laundry at resort & went to MGM around 10am. This was one of our favorite parks. Rock N Roller coaster is great! Ride in the front car if you can - its great. This is the only ride picture we bought. I thought $16.95 + tax is a bit steap for these pictures but had to get this one.
Tower of Terror was fun. We didn't like star tours or the body war ride at Epcot at all. Sounds Dangerous was a good show & so was the Animation Tour. Were going to Fantasmic but it was pouring! Only day we didn't take the ponchos wouldn't you know it so ending up forking over the $6 a piece for the ponchos. Monday was our last day in the parks so we went to MK first & did a few rides we missed the 1st day & saw a few shows, downtown disney to shop, back to resort to the pool & MGM again to see Fantasmic. Were going to ride ToT again, but the line just stopped moving so we jumped out of line to go on RoR coaster & that broke down just before we were to get on! Just weren't supposed to ride again I guess. Fantasmic was really nice & we caught a bus back to the resort right after that show. Tuesday went swimming early & checked out the Music resort, had dinner, & then Sam picked us back up for the airport. All in all the parks were really uncrowded & the most we waited for any ride was 15 minutes even without fastpass. Only smelt smoke one morning while waiting for the bus. We really had a good vacation thanks to all the posts on these boards & Disney books I had bought. Thanks everybody!
