1st time steered wrong - Tutto Italia

The Casarecci is my favorite dish on the menu! The lasagna wasn't horrible when my mom had it...but I've had better. I did enjoy the bechemel sauce on top...reminded me of Greek pasticio.

I LOVED the lasagne there last Aug. We're going again in a few weeks...I'll update once I'm back and see if its the same or not.

I'd heard on these boards that the lasagna there is "to die!"

1) You mis-read the posting.
2) The actual quote was "to die, if you eat there".
3) The food is about average, or just sub-average.
4) For Italian, you are far better off eating at Il Mulino.

Love these threads....in other words---Do you idiots really like the lasagna? Boy, are you stupid!!

;)

LOL!

Frann.......my husband and I had the strip steak and it was melt in your mouth delicious.....we enjoyed every bite..

and remember folks.....not everyone likes the same thing ....so go with your preference and eat what you want

I think it greatly depends on what you are used to and your individual preferences. I notice that Northeners are not quite so picky with Mexican or Barbecue as Southerners esp Texans are and Southerners are not quite so picky with Italian food, bagels, etc. as Northerners are. If you are used to eating the best of the best of a particular food in your hometown, Disney food will never measure up. We went right when it opened and were pleasantly surprised since we are from NY/NJ. Tutto Italia is far from the best Italian I've ever had but it was fresh and we had excellent service and an awesome Campari cocktail there so it was not all bad. I recall having some basic penne dish, though. Didn't try the lasagna. I knew it could never be up to Carmine's! :)

I also did not like the lasagna at all. We are going back on our next trip, because I am willing to give Tutto another shot, but I will definitely be ordering something other than the lasagna.

We went to Tutto Italia today for lunch. I've been there before and I love Tutto, but this time I wanted to try something different.

I'd heard on these boards that the lasagna there is "to die!" so between that and some other choices I went for the lasagna. Big mistake! The lasagna was just too similar to Chef Boyardee - really if you ate Chef Boyardee meat ravioli and the lasagna side by side, it would be tough to tell them apart. :sad2:

Does everyone really think this lasagna is great?

I usually get excellent advice from these boards so this was the first time I've been steered wrong about a menu item. Different strokes for different folks I guess!

Anyhow, if you're at Tutto, you may want to rethink the lasagna. Get the Casarecci w/ lamb sauce, its much better (I know b/c I ate about 1/2 of it off of my husband's plate today!)

I will still go to Tutto in the future, I'll just order something else next time.

OP I have to agree with you about it tasting like Chef Boyrdee. I had that last Aug and gave my DW a bit and we both agreed on the taste that it was Chef Boyrdee

My daughter ate lots and lots of Chef Boyrdee during college and when she graduated she swore she would never eat it again. Imagine her surprise when she had the lasagna at Tutto last summer!!!
