1st time staying at Dolphin - room key question

I've stayed at Pop Century and Coronado my past several trips, but I'm trying the Dolphin for the first time next month. I know that you can't charge to your room key from outside the resort, but I was wondering if the card still looks like the Key to the World card you get at other resorts? :confused3

The reason I ask is because I saw that they are trying a different strategy for extra magic hours in the evening where they aren't using bracelets, just room keys. If they room keys look different I was wondering if this would be a problem...

The room keys have a picture of the Swan and Dolphin on them

Not sure about any new policy regarding the use of bracelets and Magic Hours.

But we stayed at Dolphin a few years back and no trouble using our room to get our bracelets!

BTW the Swan and Dolphin have one of the best pools on property!

Have fun!

Hi Meg?

You are going to have a fantastic time at the Dolphin. We've been to the Swan and Dolphin twice now
and really really like it. It blows away any Disney value or even moderate IMHO. The location is awesome
right beside the Boardwalk and Epcot. You can walk to either one with no problems. I'd suggest a couple
of things before you go...

- Sign up with SPG.com. This is the Starwood Preferred Guest program and it's free. You can gain points
for staying at Starwood hotel properties (of which the S/D are apart of). Their program is definitely the best
of all hotel reward programs. We now have enough points to stay 6 free nights. You can't beat that!!

- When you check in ask very nicely if you can have a room with a view of Epcot. We did that on our last
trip and the CM was really really nice. Here is the room view we got. We could see MGM and the nightly
fireworks from Epcot. Very cool.

Have a great time.

Andy,

Thanks for the advice. I acutally just signed up for SPG last week. I wish I had known about it sooner and could have gotten points for my stay at the Westin in Aruba last year! It sounds like the Dolphin is going to be perfect for us!

I'm a little worried about the room we are going to get because we are taking a later flight. We don't land in Orlando until almost 9 PM. I have a feeling, we will take what we can get, but we'll just be happy being at WDW. :goodvibes
