Ok we (2A and 2children) are going to WDW 3/20-3/30. Flying to MCO and staying at SSR and OKW(poss BWV). We have always done a car service, but I was thinking about renting a car to visit friends(having 1st baby) and poss go out to KSC.

I have no clue...I have an enterainment book, and NYST coupons. I was wondering if any of the car booking pros could help me? Also advise me on anything I might not be thinking of..eg. insurance, 2nd drivers, drop off convience...

I am open to a 10 rental, 2 3-day rentals or even 3-4 single day rentals. What companies have the best prices? I would love to hear your suggestions.
Thanks!

First place to stop is www.mousesavers.com to check out her "transportation for your disney vacation section." She has found every discount coupon, code, and trick imaginable. You have time to join one or more of the car rental companies' preferred member clubs. Many are available at no cost and they will help you get your car and on your way fast because, with that membership, your info is in their computer and you don't have to wait on line at the counter. You just go to the lot, pick out a car, drive to the gate attendant and you're on your way.

I would call your insurance agent to ask whether you are covered for rental cars. It will give you some comfort.

My favorites at MCO are National, Alamo and Dollar. Very convenient, nice cars, and efficient.

Enjoy your trip.

Sandi is right on. You still have plenty of time so take your time and check those codes carefully. I just booked with Alamo for the first time and got a great rate on a minivan with one of the entertainment coupons. normaly i use budget, but alamo is running a better special. please see this thread for more info.

you would probably and up with a better rate if you rent for the complete ten days.

We have 2A and 2C (ours are 4 and 7). We rent a midsize or a compact. I just booked our trip (4/2 - 4/8) last week. I found the least expensive for my size car and dates to be Thrifty and then Budget. ( I did not check Alamo or Dollar - they push there insurance too hard, so I don't bother to even consider them). The other companies - National, Hertz, and Avis were higher.

I chose Budget even though it was a $5 dollars more expensive because they are on-site, Thrifty requires a short shuttle bus ride.

In the past we have gone with Hertz (they are located right next to Thrifty) because they offered the best AAA rate - but not this year. We had no complaints with them.

Some companies offer better rates on weekends, others offer specials on week days. Just check around and see what is available.
