I'm flying out of Manchester for the 1st time in a few weeks and had a couple of questions:
1) Checking out parking for 8 days: MHT would be $85, the Highlander $64. Has anyone parked at The Highlander and have any info? Is it easy to get to? How are the shuttles?
2) I have a 7am flight on a Friday morning. I plan to leave Millis at 4:30am since it's about a 1.25-1.5 hour trip, parking, shuttle, etc. Do you think this will be enough time? Don't think there'll be a traffic problem on 495 at that hour...
3) Once I land back in Manchester, I'm headed to meet my DBF in Liberty, ME (near Augusta). Best route to take from the airport?

Thanks for your help!!! :goodvibes

Will be watching this thread...we are doing the same on the 25th.

Parking at the Highlander Inn is easy. It's right next to the airport. You park at the booth, go in and pay, follow the van to one of their lots and hop in for a very short ride to the airport. We use them 3-4 times a year and they've always been wonderful. http://www.highlanderairportparking.com/index.html

Route to Maine - 101 East to Hampton, then 95 North. It should take about 3 hours to Augusta.

I didn't now this. We use them several times a year as well. It's very convenient. When you get back just call them and tell them you've landed. We won't be doing the park and stay package though. It came out to be more expensive to use the park and stay rather than just parking and booking a room seperately!

If it takes you an hour and a half to get to Manchester from Millis you'd get to the hotel at about 6 am. I think that's cutting it too close. Consider that there's going to be some time spent stopping, paying, going to the lot and riding to the airport, waiting in line to check your luggage at the airport, waiting in line to go through security, and anything anyone in your party needs to do before getting on the plane - and you'll be boarding your plane about a half hour before your departure time. I think that you'll need to leave at least another half hour before departure to accomodate everything. There'll probably be truck traffic on 495 at that hour but it shouldn't be any problem in terms of travel time.

checked the highlanderr site, it seems to have chnaged maybe the AAA is no longer available

Thanks Dick. I'll probably be doing the Manchester ride this weekend to get an idea of how long a trip it'll be and exactly where everything is. Also gives me a chance to get some beer and cigs for DBF...

Just talked to Steve and he said that when MHT parking went to $10, they kept their rate at $8 and got rid of some discounts. If you have a military ID, there is a discount for that only!!

I agree that the Highlander is great. The shuttles are quick to bring you to the terminal and to pick you up. The AAA rate was discontinued a few years back. To get to Liberty ME, like Shorty said, you would get onto Rte. 293S to Rte. 101E. There will be some tolls - $1.00 in Hampton when you get onto Rte. 95 and then another on the Maine Turnpike (the amount depends on which exit you get off) but is probably another couple bucks. Have a great time!

Back from NH and found it to be as everyone said. Here's the basics:
From Franklin, MA to MHT is 75 miles and/or 1.25 hours. Went 495N to 3N to 293S ($1 toll in NH on Everett Turnpike/3N) to Brown Ave. Both MHT and the Highlander signs very clear and easy to get to. Checked out the terminal and found out SW has skycaps which helps alot.

Thanks for everyone's input!!! :goodvibes
