My family will be going to Disney in Dec. for the 1st time ever (for all of us.) We booked rooms at the Contemporary (Garden Room area). ? if anyone has stayed there recently and how they were. Thanks so much.:goodvibes

The CR rooms went through a major renovation last year. The new rooms are very modern and offer some nice amenities like flat panel televisions, dvd players and refrigerators. The rooms are the largest rooms on property, though the garden wing rooms do not offer balconies. I would request a first floor room which does have a patio. I love the CR. It is my favorite resort on property. You can't beat the convenience of a walk to MK!

Just got back 4 weeks ago. The rooms are awesome. They have nice flat HD TV's, and the new decor is a grat improvement. I think if you google "pictures of contemporary resort" you can find some.

Also, the rooms have computers with internet access - that was free when we went but now I'm not sure.

We stayed in the tower, which is unbeatable. But I've stayed in the garden wings and I think dollar-for-dollar, the garden rooms are great. I agree with the previous poster who suggested a 1st floor room so that you can have a patio.

are they larger than the Poly rooms?

Even though my family and I have only stayed in the Tower and not the Garden Wing section of the Contemporary, they are still the same exact rooms which look amaizing so you will love it there. Since others have said what comes in the room there is no need for me to repeat the same things.

While I haven't yet stayed at CR, as I am hooked on the WL, I have been to Disney at Christmas several times so I thought I'd offer up some must sees. Make sure you see the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT's American Pavilion. They show it 3 times a night and have well known guest narrators like John Tesh, Gary Sinise, Eartha Kit and many more. Catch one of the tree lighting ceremonies, 6:00 at every park. Don't miss the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights at MGM and the Christmas Parade at MK. Disney is magical anytime of the year, but add in the decorations and joy of the holiday season and it is a must for me. Check out the decorations at other resorts, like the WL and GF. I have been at Disney right after Thanksgiving or during the first two weeks of December since 1998. At this point, I can't imagine Christmas without Disney as it is so much a part of my holiday tradition now. I'll just make sure my niece and nephew love it as much as their favorite Aunt does, so that they can wheel me around the World when I am 92. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas trip.
