1st Time Epcot concert question

My wife and I are looking at going to see Night Ranger for the Garden Rocks concert series this year.

What are the tips for getting in? I read somewhere to get there 90 minutes before show time. Is that a good rule? What to do for 90 minutes? haha Can you take in food and drink?

The concerts I have seen were never too crowded. Even once the seating fills up, if you don't want to be too close you can just hang out anywhere in the American pavilion. If you do want to down front then you may want to be somewhat early, though I wouldn't think 90 minutes is necessary.

Night Ranger should be a good show!

I disagree. The concerts are quite popular and if you want to be guaranteed a seat, you need to get in the line, at least 90 minutes before the show. I go every year to hear Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits) Luckily for me, I am a life-time member of his fan club and the 1st couple of rows have, in past years, been reserved for us.

Well, I can only go by the few I've been to (or been near), which didn't seem too crowded or popular. I'll defer to the experts because maybe it was just a fluke.

There should be 3 performances each night: 5:30, 6:45, 8:00
So if you miss the first show, you could catch one of the other ones.

I have never had a problem getting somewhere to sit even at last minute. Usually there are seats back in the back and you can sit on the planters on the side. You can even stand in the back and still see and hear everything fine. Now, if you want a seat up front, yes you probably need to start lining up early or buy a dining package. Yes, you can take food and drink, it's an open air theater, you can hear the music from one or two countries over.
