1st Time-DisWorld-at Xmas-w/broken ankle

This will be my first time at Disney World. Kids are 9 & 11. My mother in law has chosen Xmas thru New Years - which is the busiest time of year. I now have a broken ankle - scooter or wheel chair? Any advice on what we MUST see while there??? Fast Pass secrets? Tell me everything you know!!
