1st time at Sea world Orlando

We're planning a trip to Orlando this year to go to SeaWorld. We're big Disney fans and this will be our first trip to Orlando without going to Disney.

Have NO idea about any of this trip - where to stay? Car necessary? Where to get tickets?

Looking for any and all info on hotel, transport, tickets, must dos- must sees - helpful planning tips or things that will make the trip go smoothly.

There is a sticky in this forum on where to find a bus stop at the TTC (and I believe, DTD) that will take you to SeaWorld.

I won't necessarily be coming from Disney - we are considering staying in Disney hotel - but may not as we aren't doing any Disney this trip - it's just going to be a "quick" long weekend (4 day) trip.

i just went today to AAA and got 3 adults and 1 child tickets for Sea world , Busch gardens and Aquatic for length of stay ticket and only payed $487 and then found a hotel for 7 days just outside of Sea World [The Doouble Tree] for $403 so hole trip is costing us $890

We have never been to discovery cove but have heard such rave things about it so like you we always do disney this will be the first time not. I bought the tickets to discovery cove and you get a sister park for free for 14 days so tickets for seaworld (the length of our stay) and Discovery Cove (non dolphin swim for 2 adults and 1 child) cost me 445.00 and were staying here http://www.qualitysuiteslbv.com/ got the rate for 59.00 a night 331.00 for a total of 776.00 Can't beat that disney always cost at least a few thousand just walk to the door

The Renaissance is a beautiful resort just across the street from SW. They do have packages, but also have some good room discounts available. One of the packages includes free dining for a day with the purchase of a SW ticket. You can get this on the SW web site too, and there are also other hotels available, but none as close as the Renaissance. There is a bus that runs along International Dr and stops right outside the hotel. Shamu Rocks is a beautiful and entertaining night show at SW.
