We slept in a little today and finished packing--thank goodness I bought the carpet bag from Downtown Disney. We checked out of the Lodge around 10 a.m. and then we headed over to MGM to see some of the things that we missed. We grabbed a quick bite to eat at Rosie's All-American Cafe. While we were finishing up eating, my sisters went to ride the rollercoaster again. Then we alll went to do the Great Movie Ride which we all enjoyed. hen we saw the 3-D Muppet Show, and the Star Tours. We then decided that that was all we wanted to do there so we grabbed a funnel cake for my mom and some ice cream for my daughter and headed out. It is now only 1 p.m. and our limo doesn't pick us up until 8 p.m. We wondered what to do now and my daughter said she wanted to say good bye to the castle and to Ariel so we headed back to the Magic Kingdom. We walked up Main street and went into a lot of the shops and bought some more stuff that I know is going to be stuffed into the new carpet bag lol. We then went to see Ariel again and had more pictures done with her since she is my daughter's favorite of all the princessess. My mom then decided that there was something that she had forgotten on Main Street so again to main street we went. We saw the parade again and then we headed back to FantasyLand. We rode Peter Pan's Flight, the Carosuel (again) Winnie the Pooh and Snow White's Scary Adventure--can I just say here that this was my least favorite ride that we have been on. I loved Peter Pan and Pooh. We then rode it's a small world again and then headed to the castle for dinner. We had a surprise when we arrived at the castle for dinner--Snow white was in the waiting room. I had thought that the princesses were only there for breakfast so it was nice seening her there. This was one of the best dinners we have had since we got here and I would definitely eat dinnner at the castle again. They sat us at a window and we got to watch the fireworks and it was a perdect way to end our first stay at Disney. We then headed back to the resort to wait for our limo. They were on time and we headed to the airport. I heard some sniffling as we pulled away from the Lodge and looked over and both my daughter and my mother were crying. My daughter said that she was going to miss Ariel and my mom said that this was the best Christmas present anyone could have given her--a vacation with all of her daughters. (you see my mom and dad divorced when I was 5 and my younger sisters were 3 and 1 and I lived with my dad and my sisters lived with my mom so we have never taklen a vacation together--ever). We got to the airport and went through security with no problems until it was time to actually board the plane. Then we get to the door that leads to the plane and were told that one of us was randomly picked for extra security checks--guess who it was--Chey lol. The lady that asked which one of us was Chey and when we showed her who it was she was a little freaked,. She said they never picked a child lol. Luckily Chey only had her Tigger backpack on which had nothing in it and her Minnie Mouse head pajama pouch which only had her blanket in it. She was so funny. They asked her if she minded if they checked her out and she said that was fine but they needed to be quick about it because "she was tired, she missed her daddy and she wanted to kiss him goodnight and then go to bed." They all got a kick out of that and then we were on the plane. Chey was asleep before we even took off. The flight was uneventful and we landed in Greensboro at 11:50 p.m. None of us was looking forward to the 2 hour drive home to Roanoke from Greensboro but we were ready to get home. While in baggage claim I had left Chey sitting on the floor while I got our luggage. I kept looking back to make sure she was ok (she was only about a foot away from me the whole time) I looked back once again and there was this strange man leaning over her talking to her and acting like he was going to pick her up and I freaked--I dropped all the bags in my hand and went over there to give this guy the what for and then noticed that it was my husband. He had driven the 2 hours in my mom's van (we had driven my Durango to Greensboro and left in long term parking) to the airport to pick us up. It was great. The ride home was nice-Chey feel asleep and my husband had to listen to me talk about Disney all the way home. Mom, my sisters and step dad took the van and went their own way home..
Our last day at Disney was both fantasic and sad at the same time. I didn't want to leave but I did want to get home to my husband since I hadn't seen him in a week. It was a truly magical vacation and I can't wait to go again.

P.S. My husband said it was the worst week of his life being in the house all alone all week so he has decided that next year he is going with us. And as of 10 a.m. this morning--I have 2 garden view rooms booked at the Polynesian for December 2002. We are going back and this time I am taking my daughter, husband and my mom and step dad. :) Now it's back to counting down days til I can get back to Disney and all that magic. :):bounce:

The perfect happy ending to your tale: another trip in 2002. Now how many days is that? ;)

Thanks for posting your reports. I truly enjoyed reading them. What a great time all of you had.

I do believe I enjoyed your vacation ALMOST as much as you! Wonderful, simply wonderful. Thanks for sharing!

What a great combination, Disney and Family!!!

Great trip, know you will have a great time next year with DH included!

Happy Holidays,

What an awesome Christmas present. You never said how your sisters enjoyed Disney. Were they a little sad to have it end also. Love hearing the reports of a first timer.

Well, I didn't mention my sisters too much because they weren't all into the magic. The sing alongs on the night time buses were just as annoying to them as they were charming to my mom, step dad, me and my daughter. They were okay most of the time but they just didn't seem to catch the magic as the rest of us did. I'm glad we all went together but I know now for future reference--if a Christmas present is going to be a trip for all of us--it isn't going to be to Disney. :) I'm definitely taking my mom and step dad with me though when we go back next December. (December 5th thru the 11th, 2002) Already have those rooms at the Polynesian booked :)

I read all of your trip reports and enjoyed each one. You certainly had a lot of magic on this trip. Thanks so much for taking the time to post these reports and sharing your trip with us, because I had a lot of fun reading them.
