My dd, 10, and I will be at ASMu this Friday for a girls only trip. We've stayed at POR and Polynesian before. We're looking forward to checking out the AllStars. I've asked for non-smoking, Jazz, third floor. My question for all you AllStar experts....are there any things we should make a point of doing, or checking out while we're there? Any suggestions about things to watch out for, well..other than cheerleaders, football players and dancers anyway!!! 2 1/2 more days...we can't wait!!!!

You will never hear anyone rave about how great the All Stars resorts are more than me....but just make sure that you are not expecting the same experience that you got at the Polynesian. Instead, feel great about staying in a fun hotel filled with the Disney feeling without the HUGE expense! I love the All Stars because I don't have to feel bad (price wise) about not spending much time there. Remember that these are fun, clean, comfortable rooms that are themed but they are not intended to be luxerious. Have fun!

If you can, see if there's a room facing the 'interior courtyard' when you check-in. You already requested a few things so I would only ask at check-in since I know listing more requests makes it less likely that you'll get them. But my reason for this is that when we stayed at ASMu in February, our room was a no-smoking, 3rd floor, corner room in Calypso (the one on the right as you look towards the rooms from the main building). It was the end corner of the building, closest to Jazz, but it was a great location. It was so much fun to be able to look out of our window and see families and happy little kids running from their rooms towards the bus stops every morning. It was our 3rd room there (1st one smelled of new paint which didn't work well for my asthma, even though it was the best room available in my opinion--corner closest to main building on 3rd floor of the other Calypso building; 2nd room faced the parking lot and just didn't have that excitement you get from watching others head out to the parks). Having a corner, 3rd floor room made it very quiet too, with only having 1 neighbor, but we stayed in middle rooms in Movies and Sports and didn't have any difficulties with noise. Also, being further from the elevators made a great walk back to the room, since we'd get to see all the cute towel animals in the windows on our way to our room.

kaabost....I'm really looking forward to staying here. Yes, the Polynesian was wonderful. But, for such a difference in cost, I can do with fewer amenities. Nope, not looking for the same experience at all. We're gonna have a terrific time, I'm sure. Thanks for the hints about room location too. I figure that I'm at WDW, I can live with just about anything. (except bugs!!!) I just didn't know if there were any special spots to be seen, or food to be eaten at the food court. Thanks again. We'll be there in 50 hrs!!!!!!

I love the freshly made cheeseburgers at the foodcourt. We stayed in Jazz building on our last trip and found it to be a very good location. Have fun!

goofy4tink~~~JUST ENJOY YOURSELF!!

DH and I only stay at the Allstars now since he's out of the military and we can't stay at the Shades of Green any longer. I chose Allstar Music because DH is a musician and I thought that would be a nice touch for him considering he only goes to Disney for me. We were in the preferred building the Calypso and it was a perfect location. Even though we were on the bottom floor, the noise level wasn't bad at all.

The Intermission Food Court is just yummy!! All the food from the pre-made to the freshly prepared is just wonderful. I love the selection and was never concerned about being hungry afterwards.

Just have fun! Enjoy your trip!

Denise
