Guess I'm really doing it!

I booked my airfare yesterday for my 1st solo trip May 7th to May 12th!

I was already holding my room and I got my ticket (at 2005 prices thank goodness!) but it didn't seem "real" until I booked the non-refundable airfare yesterday!

122 more days...It feels a little weird now...I hope I enjoy it as much as I think will!

I hope you have a wonderful time. I wouldn't want to go to WDW alone for every trip, but every once in a while, it's nice to go there solo and do exactly what I want when I want.

Congrats on your first WDW solo trip!

It never seems real until I have the ticket for the plan and the paperwork from Disney for the room and stuff.

Just remember, get your Birthday pin from the first park you go into and wear it proudly!!!! (just watch out for the 3pm Parade in MK..I've seen Pirates Yell Happy Birthday right in your face..in true pirate fashion pirate: )

Besides you're never really solo in WDW..there are thousands of people in the parks and normally a few Dis-ers who are around at the same time. Watch the boards for ppl saying they are going the same times and see if you can meet up for a snack, drink, parade, meal etc

My second solo trip I took WDW tours to help pass the time. I did help some.

Happy Travels in May

:goodvibes You will have a gr8 time in May. The flower and garder fest. is going on then. May5-8 Paul Revere and the Raiders are playing. :cool1:

Ooooooooo, I don't know about the Birthday button.

I went last year for my birthday (but not solo) and I wore the button, but I'm not sure about wearing it on a solo trip....I do plan on doing KTTK tour on my birthday though. I think I'd feel funny wearing the Birthday button?

It's up to you about the Birthday Button, but I'll bet other solos wear it. When I was at WDW solo in December, I had a DIS button on and some CMs thought it was a Birthday Button. If I ever went for my birthday, I'd certainly wear the button. But I've been solo so many times, I'm a lot less shy than I was on my first trip. I refused to eat sit down meals until about my fourth solo trip. So where are you staying? Now that you have your airfare, you've got to have a place to stay!

WELCOME - I travel to Disney by myself ALL THE TIME. I love it!!! I get to do what I want, when I want, eat when and where I want, sleep till I want to get up!!!! This is the perfect time to do the things no one wants to do when you travel with others. I usually go every May - the weather is great and close to Mother's Day there are plenty of mother/daughter travelers together.
I use the solo trips to enjoy special tours offered by Disney (I especially liked the Dolphins in Depth at Living Seas), try a spa treatment or get your hair cut. I try rides I never had to courage to take when accompanied by family. I actually went on Rockin RollerCoaster by myself. I love going to Animal Kingdom and spend the longest time just looking at 1 animal and capturing that perfect photo. Also, it's a great time to go to all the shows!
And if you ever feel uncomfortable, just sit on a bench, if a few minutes there will always be someone sitting next to you who you can strike up a conversation with. Enjoy yourself and have a magical day.

:earsgirl: Have a great time, 90% of my trips have been solo and they have been the beat times as the other Dis members have said, you can do as you want to do. I did the B'day button and it was great it made my :wizard: B'day very special and I am planning on doing it this Year. Go have a great time and just enjoy the magic. :flower2:

Hooray! I just did my first solo trip after this past Thanksgiving. It was amazingly fun and I'm sure that you'll have the time of your life. Honestly, I didn't feel weird at all (except for that character handler that questioned me about it when I wanted my picture taken with Woody - but that was the ONLY incident - clearly that guy didn't know anything about customer/guest service).

One of the best things was being able to take my time and to not rush to and fro. I actually found myself, hands in my pockets, strolling around Liberty Square taking in the details. :teeth:

Don't fret - it'll be great!

you will do fine!!!

you can have fun solo promise.

if you are shy I wouldn't wear the birthday bulletin - it will bring more attention. however if you aren't go for it!!!

Well.............Nevermind!!!!!!!!

I guess I will wear my Birthday button, because I am no longer going solo!

I had originally planned to take my 10 year old niece with me, but then my sister said she couldn't go because she had school testing that week, but I just found out yesterday that she had the testing dates wrong and now my niece can go. I was able to get her the same plane reservations with me, so now I will be two instead of one. :goodvibes

I was actually getting pretty excited about going solo and was just about to book my KTTK tour, but I'm happy my niece can go after all. I took my other niece last year and we really had a wonderful time together.

I haven't given up on a solo trip though, I'm thinking :scratchin May 2007 for that now!
