We just returned last night from our first ever on-site Disney stay and wanted to give a big "THANK YOU" for all of the great insights and advice. It was amazing how accurate most of the things I read on here were - i.e. Cinderella's Royal Table, food not so good, experience amazing was right on. We absolutely LOVED the Poly and at one point I calculated how much our monthly rent would be to just stay! Our room was cleaned by 1 pm every day and at one point heard so many "ALOHA"'s that it actually started to get on my nerves. (just a teeny-tiny bit). The dining plan was awesome - don't know how anyone will EVER use the Deluxe dining plan!

The only issue we had was with the transportation. The magical express to the resort seemed to have a very long wait. We have two daughters in wheelchairs and ended up renting a van. On the ME trip to the resort the driver did not lock the seats in place that make room for the wheelchairs and they kept sliding back and hitting DD17 in the knees. When she got up the next morning her legs were black and blue! It was just too cumbersome and inconvenient to get around. Once we did that we absolutely had the best vacation we have ever had.

Again - thank you. It was amazing the difference after 15 or so off site stays what staying on property was like. We will NEVER stay off site again!

So glad you had a wonderful trip. We stayed at the Poly too and absolutely loved it. We also took our 3 1/2 year old granddaughter to CRT for lunch and found the food okay but agree that the atmosphere was worth it. She was randomly picked to be princess of the day and her name was announced and she led everyone up to the tower for lunch. It was a fun experience.

I was there too! at the Poly I mean with our first on site stay as a family. awesome for sure. and I must say, I kept thinking the same thing the whole trip, yup, yup, yup, the DIS said this, the DIS said that. . .my DH was mighty impressed with all the accurate information (both good and bad) I had foreknowledge of!

everything was delightful except those dang buses:sad2: Wish Disney would expand that monorail!! I heard it is just way to expensive. We also had some hit or misses with it as well though. Actually took a taxi one afternoon back from DTD as the wait/ride over from the Poly took us well over an hour and then with Marketplace pickups closed, the hike back to West side was just too much to think about in the heat.

ME was terrific for us, came in and left on a Tuesday so that may have made a difference.

Glad you had a great 1st onsite experience:goodvibes

Being in the "world" is awesome....I like the disney bubble;)

Very very glad that you had such a great experience!

So, when is your next trip scheduled?!?!?!?!?

Next trip - bounce back next September but will probably end of canceling that and going in December. Heat just too much for my girls. Even though we live in Texas, we really just don't take them out much during the hot time of the year at home, so we will probably wait till it cools off.
