1st night in new place-tips for getting over the jitters?

The title says it. I'm not as bad as I could be I guess, but I am jumping at every little noise. I'm not sure if it will get better or worse when I head to bed. Anyone got any tips for adjusting to a new home?

I'd suggest ear plugs. But maybe it would be better to get used to the different noises. I'd be nervous too.

I suggest a night lite too. There is nothing like waking up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom & walking straight into a wall. I've done it many times! LOL

I vote for a nightlight and some sort of "white" noise. I use a fan, myself

I agree with Dan...DIS all night!

I'd say listen to some good music, and try not to have the house completly silent....that always helps me.

I love that guy.

I just moved in my new home in April. I left the radio on softly which seemed to help. Hope you find something that works!

Thanks guys, I survived it. I used a little nightlight and when I first went to bed left the tv on with the sleep timer. When I did wake up in the middle of the night, I cut that dumb light off (I like sleeping in dark dark rooms) and did fine. I think it will get easier every day as I get used to the sounds here.
