1st Night Dinning Suggestions?

Im looking for dinner suggestions for our first night at WDW. We are flying in from the uk, so we will have had a 2 hour drive plus a long flight to Orlando. So we dont want to dress up or go anywhere too formal. Also we would prefer not to use our park passes for just dinner. We would look to eat around 8pm.

We are not driving so it need to be on-site. Can anyone recommend somewhere in any WDW resort at all? We enjoy most foods as long as its tasty.

We always try to eat at Boma our first night.

We have reservations for Kona Cafe at the Poly for dinner in May. We can't wait. The place is not fancy & the menu looks really good. Where are you staying? You could always try Downtown Disney too. Have heard mixed reviews of Concource Steakhouse at CR, but we will be trying that too this trip. Have heard good things about Boma at AKL-going there too!! Hate to say it, but after a long day traveling & with a late arrival, we have just eaten at our food court at our resort & then start fresh in the morning.

A new favourite of ours is Raglan Road at Downtown Disney. An Irish restaurant with excellent food and free Irish music and dancing , or how about Rainforest Cafe if you have children with you

Our first night I scheduled a character dinner at Chef Mickey's. I figured it would get us in the disney mode w/o using a day on our hopper. Then take a ride on the monorail.

I would try Chef Mickeys at the CR or 'Ohana at the Poly.

We generally do a resort meal. Boma and Kona cafe are our more common first night choices.

If we arrive around dinner, and don't plan on going to a park until the next morning, we always eat at the resort we are staying at. We like to walk around and familiarize ourselves with the place, and the way to our room (our last trip to BWI, we were lost for the first day! Just couldn't get the right turns to our room. LOL!) Then we head for a dip in the pool, and let it sink in that we are really at WDW!
