We are staying at the Dolphin 2/27 - 3/6. We are not doing the parks 2/27 or 3/6. After a long day of traveling we probably won't want to wander too far from the hotel, maybe walk the Boardwalk, play a little mini golf. We have an 8 & 11 yo that live on chicken fingers and pizza. Any suggestions for dinner the first night?
Thanks!

Well, let the kids eat at Tubbi's at the Dolphin...great food.

Depending on what type of meal you are looking for, you may like tubbi's also. Very relaxed, fresh, like homemade type food.

Other than that...you have many, many, restaurants within a few minute walk or boat ride.

I love the buffet over at the Garden Grove at the Swan...and they have characters there....Spoodle on the Boardwalk is pretty good. For a fancy meal (kids can still have their food) The Yachtman....it is endless over there

There's a new restaraunt opening in the Dolphin called blue zoo by Todd English? I quess he's a well known chef, I'm not sure when it will be opening?....goof

I am not that familiar with the restaurants that are actually at Swan & Dolphin other than Shula's and at the risk of creating a firestorm I don't recommend it). That having been said:

You might try Beaches & Cream at BC. If the kids finish first there is an arcade adjacent to B&C so they can occupy themselves.

We love the Yachtsman Steakhouse - they have a kids menu (no pizza or chicken fingers- at least I don't believe chicken fingers are on the kids menu)

Spoodles over on the Boardwalk is an excellent choice. The kids can have their pizza - it is not actually on the menu but just ask your server & I am sure they will oblige by ordering from the pizza window. The food is good and we have never had bad service there.

ESPN Club would be a great choice. It is loud and the TVs (of which there are many) have some sort of sports event on all the time. We love it and generally eat there at least once per visit. No pizza on the menu - but if they have to have it- send them down the Boardwalk to the pizza window - have them order it up and bring it back to ESPN. We do this all the time as DS really likes the pizza and gets tired of burgers & chicken fingers but seems to never tire of pizza. There is also an arcade adjacent to ESPN so there is plenty for the kids to do while the adults enjoy an extra cool beverage or conversation or both.

Enjoy!!

01Sweetpea: We just returned from a stay at the Dolphin this past Sunday and also have kids 8 and 11 (and 13). Beaches and Cream at the BC is an option, as another posted suggested. We did like our meal there, but I found their menu extremely limited. Also, it is very small inside (only about 4 or 5 each of booths and tables, and a long counter with stools as well. We had to wait at least 30 to 40 minutes each of the two times we ate there. However, a place I can highly recommend is the Dolphin Fountain located on the lower level of the Dolphin, near the back escalator/stairs. They are an "old fashioned" soda fountain type of restaurant with pics of Elvis and Marilyn etc. on the walls. Here is a link to a post where I wrote a review of this restaurant:

You can also look up menus for any restaurant at WDW at www.wdwig.com. This really helped us to decide which places to eat and which ones wouldn't have anything the kids would like...

Hope this helps!
