1st Night At Boardwalk: Where To Eat

You mentioned an early breakfast on the next day. We have stayed at the BW and really enjoyed the fare at the Boardwalk Bakery. Find a nice table outside by the water and enjoy the beautiful lagoon.
Oh I wish we were there now--still 11 months to go until our next trip.

We really enjoyed Flying Fish, but its a committment - one of Disney's "better" restaurants.

We got in a did B&C. Cape May might be fun as well over that the Y&BC.

We walked by ESPN one morning while they were cleaning, you could smell beer and stale cigarettes from the Boardwalk walking by. I won't be going in. Food may be great, but I was gagging on the smoke smell 10 yards from the door the next morning. (The did have fans blowing the place out).

When was this? You haven't been able to smoke in the ESPN or any restaurant in Florida for years! You may smell stale beer after an extremely busy night maybe but not any kind of smoke.

cjsmith is right. Florida has a law about smoking in any restaurant or bar (unless food sales are less than 10%, can you tell I'm in the Biz?). There is a smoking area right outside of ESPN by the benches. Plus when its busy they do have a beer cart right outside the door. Might be what Crisi smelled.

I would suggest ESPN or Beaches and Cream. If you choose ESPN ask for a booth and give your license to the hostess for PS controllers, so the kids can play while waiting for their food. Plus since you have sons I'm sure they will enjoy all the sports memorabilia. One fair warning though. I love their Dingers(buffalo chicken tenderlions) at ESPN, they offer hot or mild, typically I'm a medium sauce person but the mild does have a good kick to it.
