Hello all,

2 Adults
3 Kids ages 9 girl -not into the whole princess thing she just wants to
be scared and ride the thrill rides :hmghost:
7 boy- loves Star Wars, Indian Jones, Dinosaurs and Pirates!
pirate:
5 girl - very much into the princess thing, Mary Poppins and
Tinker Bell. :tink:
The kids have set up a Disney fund as they call it and are putting all the loose change and B-day money they get in the fund. (it's actually a metal bucket that they found in the shed)

I'm in the middle of planning out first ever family Disney trip. Nov 4-10th I grew up in FL and my family lived in Orlando it however has been 5-7 years since I have been to Disney boy alot has changed! My husband is deployed and we have decided to take advantage of the rates that disney has for military members. We are visiting Disney durning his 2 week R&R. We are staying for 6 nights at the Port Orleans Riverside and will be getting the military 5 day park hopper pass. Since we are driving from PA I haven't planned anything for our first day, seeing how my husband will have just flew in from Kuwait 2 days prior ( I know we are crazy!!) I have the Disney Dining Plan and have made ADR's each kid was able to choose what they wanted. Which is Chef mickeys, 1900 fare for the supercali breakfast and the Hoop dee doo review. We have also choosen the Biergarten hoping it will take us back to our days of living in Germany.
Ok so I need any kind of advice I can get!! Feel free to tell me that I don't have to stick with my set plan as far as park visits and such. Being from the military I have this we must stick to the schudule thing about me and I know it that's the sad part.

Questions I have
Should we buy the resort mugs with free refills?
Where is the best place to watch the Parade in MK?
Where is the best place to see Tinker Bell fly over during the Wishes fireworks?
I also heard that if I go to City hall and tell them that my husband is in the military that they pick one person per day to lower the flag in MK is this true? I think it would be a great experince for him.
I have tons of questions which I plan on searching the boards for answers to.

Thanks in advance.
April

Sounds like you have a great trip planned!
The only question I can answer is the mug one, we usually don't buy them because you can only use them at the resort and we hardly spend time at the resort. Last time we did, however, buy two of them so dh could go get us some coffee each morning to drink while the kids where getting ready for the day. It really depends on what you plan to spend time doing. The mugs are fun to keep though!

I can't really answer any of your specific questions, but I can agree with what you already stated which is trying not to focus too much on the schedule thing, just try to relax and let your poor DH relax and enjoy those Magical MOMENTS that you might rush right through otherwise.

Also, a great big Hug to Your DH, YOU and your kids for all of the sacrifices you ALL make being part of a military family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. THANK YOU is such a small sentiment, but it comes from the bottom of my families hearts...:cheer2::grouphug:

Enjoy your vacation, much needed, greatly deserved. :woohoo:

I didn't even think about coffee! My husband lives on that stuff. He will need a cup in the morning and want to refill just before we go to the parks. Thank you for the tip!
