1st DVC Stay (Jambo), Several Room Questions

We are approaching our 1st DVC stay and I'm wondering what I should be thinking about shipping/ordering for a Jambo 1-BR.

1) Do I need filters for the coffee machine & what kind? I'm also wondering if anyone has stayed at Jambo recently in case they changed coffee makers during the renovation.

2) Do they provide dish soap and a sponge? How much?

3) Laundry Detergent? How much?

4) How many towels are in the room?

5) It's been a few years, but I think there were towels at the pool. Is that correct?

6) What kind of dishes are in the room?

Any other tips on what to bring?

Full size (10-12 cup) Mr Coffee style brewer. There will be 1 or 2 starter packs of pre-filtered coffee.

2) Do they provide dish soap and a sponge? How much?

1 bottle of dish soap and 1 sponge.

3) Laundry Detergent? How much?

1 single use package.

4) How many towels are in the room?

Towels for 5 (except Values which has towels for 4).

5) It's been a few years, but I think there were towels at the pool. Is that correct?

Yes.

6) What kind of dishes are in the room?

1 bedroom & larger have real dishes and flatware. Studios have paper plates/bowls & plastic utensils.

You will also get dishwasher soap.
If you plan to cook, yes that stove decoration really does work, you might need salt/pepper, spices... Bottled water is always good, as Florida water ...ah is not so good.
You should have all the cookware you will need, but if you find you need something, just call housekeeping, they do have many other items available at no additional cost.

As Michael pointed out, the 1BRs are well stocked. Since this is your first DVC stay, I'd stay away from lugging a lot of stuff especially since it sounds like you are flying there. After your first stay, you'll have a better idea of what you want to bring/ship. The only thing I'd have delivered would be food from Garden Grocer or some such delivery service if you want that.

After many trips we have a good idea of what we want to have on hand that we got tired of lugging back and forth. So we rent an Owners Locker which works great! But I could have never known what to put in it after only one or two trips. Enjoy your first trip!

When Michael says towels for five, he means five bath towels, probably two hand towels, five face cloths and one or two tub mats. They will be replaced (along with all the other expendables) on day four. But if you plan on making more than one pot of coffee every four days, you'll want to bring some from home along with the flat bottom basket style (like Mr Coffee) filters. They don't provide filters for your coffee.
