I'm thinking of maybe staying at POP for a week next year on our holiday to orlando, as i have never stay at a disney hotel before, i'm needing some help,

i dont really understand the EMH at the theme parks, i have looked at the calender on the Offical Disney Website and the days it says EMH, somedays the day before is open the same times as the one with EMH.

i dont understand can anyone help.

also if on my check out day there are EMH at a park , can i still go to it, or is it once i have checked out at POP, i can't use the EMH for that day?

thank you

EMH is time before or after the normal opening /closing time that allows only resort guests in. You should be able to use EMH on the day you check out as they usually give you until midnight

Be sure you have checked all resorts out for budgets etc..

www.allearsnet.com is a great source of info

They don't list the EMH hours on the calendar. If it's morning EMH then the park opens one hour early for resort guests, evening they stay open 3 hours later. You may go to EMH on the check out day.

Expanding on what Quinn222 wrote, go to the calendar on Disney's official site. When you click on the link for extra magic hours, locate all of the dates that you will be there (including the days that you check in OR out...you can still go on these days).

You will notice under the EMH days a section for MORNING EMH and then a section for EVENING EMH. I recommend making two columns on a sheet of paper (one for each) and listing your relevant vacation dates under each section.

Then go back to the main park hours calendar. Note the hours of operation for those days. If it is MORNING EMH, then the park will open AN HOUR earlier for resort guests than what is listed. If it is EVENING EMH, then the park will stay open THREE HOURS LATER for resort guests.

Congrats on staying on-site for this trip! I think you'll LOVE the experience!

is it always an extra 3 hours in the evenings, because the brochure i have says UP TO 3 hours, which sounds like sometimes it can be an hour others 2 hours and then 3 hours?

That's actually a REALLY good question. In my experience (and I go in the off-season), it has always been three hours. When you check in, they will have up-to-date maps and park hours and you will be able to tell for sure when you get those. Otherwise, I'd plan for three hours.

Anyone NOT had the park stay open the full three hours for EMH? If so, when and which park?
