what are you doing on the day before you go to your first park?? we will be arriving with almost a full day to waste---what shall we do other than just hang at the pool??

We are going to drive this year, and we plan to arrive around 10 am or so. We plan to check in (even if our room isn't ready), then go to other resorts and see the Christmas decorations. We will have dinner at Chef Mickey's that night, and possibly MVMCP, depending on how tired we are and if there are tickets still available. I'm not going to order them in advance since we're already going later that week and I don't know if we'll be up to going. I'm thinking hard about adding another day to our park tickets just in case we want to go to a park, but it will be the Sunday after Thanksgiving and I suspect it will still be crowded. We've never NOT gone to a park on any day at Disney before, so we'll have to see.

We may go play mini-golf that evening if we don't end up at MVMCP, or maybe DTD.

lunch at Whispering Canyon
ride the boats
ride the monorails
arcades

We are gonna have about a half to a full extra day (due to we are driving). Since we have Fl. PAP's, we are still trying to decide to go ahead and catch one of the fireworks shows, resort hop, or DTD. DS9 may want to hang around the pool, but doubt we'll do that,we have a pool at home.

We should arrive by noon on our first day. We plan on checking in and heading to MK. With MYW extra days so cheap we bought a day for each we'll be there (8 days)

We usually go to Gatorland in the morning. Then we head over to the Boggy Creek air boat rides. Then to cap the night off we go to Old Town. We usually end the night at about 8:30 p.m. That way we can get an early start the next morning..

When we go without our neices or nephews we spend the first day at DTD and the resort. When we have others with us we check in and RUN (lol) to Mk. Can't wait to see the expressions on their faces. :flower:

We are driving and will arrive around 9AM. We are planning to go to TL for a few hours to relax and float in the lazy river. Then we will go to our rooms and get ready for Ohana's for dinner and early to bed for MK the next day.

MYW pricing really makes it easy to go to a park, even if it's only for a few hours. If memory serves, it's <$15 difference to get a 6 day pass instead of a 5 day pass for my family of 5.

We're leaning towards heading over to MGM (arrival day is an EMH evening) and catching Fantasmic. I figure even if we do nothing else in the park (unlikely), getting a show like Fantasmic out of the way frees up the schedule for the rest of the trip.

We're going to let DD21mos. take a nap in the room, then head to DTD to go to the Rainforest Cafe for an early dinner.

:wave2: :wave2: With driving not to sure of when we would get in but if we hit Fla early enough, might go to Kennedy Space Center for a tour for the grandkids..Will get that out of the way as we are staying in a condo on the gulf after the Disney trip. Kinda hate to travel across Fla for a one day trip to tour the Space Center.. Was hoping to show them a ship if they were in but probably not as we are driving into Fla on a Wednesday.. Could probably take them into Tampa, if any ships still leave from there.. First day at Disney is Thursday.. :earsboy: :earsgirl:

We are flying this time, and arriving in Orlando at 8:40 AM  I'm not sure how long it will take to get from the airport to where we are staying (Pop), but I'm guessing it will be around 11 or 12 - so plenty of time to take in a park. We are heading to MGM. We have a PS at 50's Prime Time Cafe' for dinner and then we'll see Fantasmic! :wizard: My dd3 will surely need a nap :cloud9: , but I haven't quite figured out the logistics of it all yet.

We leave June 5. :cool1: I can't wait!!! :earboy2:

When we went last October, we drove and it was around 3 pm when we finally got checked in to the hotel. We did DTD and ate supper at Planet Hollywood. It was a great way to kick-off the trip. ::MickeyMo

::yes::

We are doing the same thing. We plan on being there for 10 days with the 10th day being the day we need to leave so i can get back home for work. With the difference in 9 days & 10 days only being a couple of dollars more we are going ahead and buying the 10 day tickets just incase my extra few days of vacation time comes thru or incase i just don't worry if i get back to work a day late. :)

After letting the check-in desk know that we are there, we usually head to Downtown Disney for some playtime in Lego Land, and change the girls into their swim suits so that they can play in the dancing fountains. Between this and browsing the stores, trading pins, getting Mickey stickers the girls definately know they have arrived!!! We take a nap once the room is ready and buy the time we are up it's usually early evening so we explore the resort a bit and head out for dinner, and or mini putt-putt.

That sounds like a great idea - we're staying off site our first night so our MYW tix won't be available yet - otherwise I'd just add an extra day. How far is the Kennedy Space Center from WDW and do you know how much admission is? Thanks :flower:

Why won't your tix be available yet? You can pre-order them and don't have to even be staying on property to use them. If you are scheduled to not get them until you checkin, maybe you can call to see if you can add a day and pick them up early. Just a suggestion.

After checking-in at our resort (AKL and not counting on a room ready), we are going to a late breakfast at Crystal Palace. In the afternoon, we will return to the resort to rest by the pool. Dinner will be at O'Hana (might change to 1900 if anyone cancels). If we aren't too pooped, we'll return to MK for the evening.
