Had an interview for a Certificate in Higher Ed. (English Lit) course on Thursday and was accepted, in preparartion for my degree......had to go on a study skills day course today at the Uni...... it was HARD!!!!:(

Ive decided everyone else is MUCH cleverer than me  and I'll never pass it!:scared:

my head hurts now.........:charac2: :sad2:

have some rum. always works for me hehehe

It's always hard when you do something new! Stick with it, you'll be fine :)

I bet everyone else is thinking the same as you, don't worry :)

Hey, relax and enjoy yourself. everyone else will be thinking the same as you and it will get easier as you get used to it. Remember everything is new and strange at the moment. In a couple of weeks it will all be so much more familar. Good luck.

Mandy, you'll be fine, beleive me the ones that look the most confident are the ones that drop out first(i see it every year), the ones who are worried and not afraid of expressing it, and ask questions are the ones that go the distance!.

you'll do really well, have faith in yourself, we do!!
Jeanette:wave:

The confident ones--it's all a facade;)

You can walk this!::yes::

You've got this far - you can't be that bad, can you? ;)

We know you can do it, and you wouldn't dare prove us wrong, would you? :teeth:

lol well with all that faith how CAN I not do well?!!!! gulp!;)

I have the induction evening tonight and then my first proper lecture tomorrow...so I'll let you know how it all goes:crazy:

Don't worry mandy - the first week is definitely the worst!!! I've still got another 3 years to go!!

The first week was terrifying for me too - all these young people - LOL. I found i had more in common with the tutors than the class. Mind you when you put your superior brain to work , they'll be flocking around asking for help:teeth:

Actually, they shouldn't let people under 25 go to University or college as none of them seem to WANT to be there - they seem to be doing it just because it's the route to go. Whereas us of the (ahem)older generation are doing it because we want to and not because we have to. I think that's why Mature students get on so much better:p

Just wait as your brain wakes up - it's amazing how much 'life experience' helps!!

thanks Elise! Im lucky in that most of the students on this first year of the course are 'mature' students and so its not so bad :)

I started to warm up a bit in my first lecture once I got going, so fingers crossed!:sunny:

This is so true. I think older students are better at time management, and they also tend to show up for class/lectures. Showing up does wonders for your marks. I don't know what the situation is in the UK, but over here, many students (not all of them) spend the weekends getting wasted.

Our college is really strict about time-keeping and the lecturers all have a 10 minute rule. After 10 minutes - don't bother coming in!!!! You have to wait outside until the break and there are no exceptions!!!

I have to leave the house at 7.20 to get to College for 9am just in case the train is delayed - poor Dan and Zach have to be up at 06.30. Ah well it's a good lesson for them I suppose!!!

Most of the younger students spend most of their time talking about their social life rather than the boring stuff such as assignments.

Got my first one today - all about Disneyland paris Yeay!!!
