1st Cruise Friday, Any suggestions, Down payment option for next cruise ship offers?

Cruising for first thim on Friday.
Someone suggested getting a ribbon for door knob to fine cabin room, they might have not been on DCL, is this hard to find room cabin?

What if one of our party 6 weeks pregnant? Any suggestions?

DH can not go but says if I enjoy look into a cruise for summer 2018 to Alaska. I heard of putting a 10% down payment or $250 down. What is the difference?

Any other suggestions would be great.

I suppose whether you have trouble finding your own stateroom door depends -- it's a long corridor with lots of doors, just like a hotel. Many people will put magnets on the doors to decorate and personalize it. I suppose a ribbon could work as well.

As long as the doctor has approved travel and it is not considered a high risk pregnancy, no particular reason not to cruise. Just be aware that most travel insurance policies will not cover pregnancy-related issues if anything were to arise. DCL allows women to cruise up until 24 weeks pregnant.

The OBB (Onboard Booking) offer gives a 10% discount, plus OBC (onboard credit) of $100 or $200 depending on length of stay. If you know which specific date you want to cruise, you can put a 10% deposit if it is 7+ nights or 20% deposit for less than 7 nights; if you don't have a specific date in mind yet, or those cruises haven't been released yet, you can put a $250 deposit on a "placeholder" that can then be used once you decide a specific date. OBBs must be used within 24 months of the date you book it onboard, and are subject to black-out dates.

Does that mean the cruise needs to be completed or commence within that time frame? For example, if I make a placeholder on Nov 1, 2016, does the next cruise have to be completed by Oct 31, 2018 or commence by that date, but end sometime in Nov 2018?

Another question regarding this topic. The deposit is fully refundable until a certain deadline set forth by the chosen cruise, correct? In other words, there is really nothing to lose by making a placeholder irrespective of travel plans other than giving DCL an interest-free loan for that time period?!

My understanding is that the cruise must commence within two years and the deposit is definitely fully refundable (unless you book a concierge room).
