my husband is driving from philly to disney with 2 out of 3 of my kids with our camper and my 15mth son hates car rides so I'm flying. am i allowed to book first class with him on my lap. I need the extra room because he has ants in pants and i don't want to be stuck with 2 other people in a row with me

I have been in first class and seen a child riding on his parents lap.
Might be just as easy to book 2 seats and have your child ride in his car seat in coach/economy seating?

There is nothing in any airline's regulations that I know of that would prohibit a lap baby in 1st class. Just be prepared for some "dirty looks" from the road warrior types that believe 1st class should be a private club.

As PP noted, probably no regulations but call airline directly to confirm.

Also be prepared for the looks but also be prepared to ignore those looks. You're going to "The Most Magical Place On Earth", so stay positive and keep you eye on the prize. It's probably only a 3 hour flight from PA to MCO. Just bring plenty of snacks and toys for the little one. If the air pressure bothers toddler's ears, maybe a little Benadryl or Dimetapp might help.

My lo hates sitting in his car seat that's why I'm not driving with the rest of the family. I'm going to get the evil looks but oh well what do you expect when ur going to florida, I bet almost the whole plane is disney people

Of course you can fly first class with a lap infant. However, it's extremely likely that you will have two seats in a row in first, so you'll still be sitting next to someone who probably will not appreciate sitting next to a squirmy toddler.

It would probably be cheaper to buy two economy tickets and will give you more room than a first class seat.

Just a side note, it's unlikely most of your fellow PAX are going to MCO to go to WDW. There are many other reasons to visit Orlando; it's a big conference city.

... I'm going to get the evil looks but oh well ...

Maybe, maybe not. When my wife and I flew back east with my baby girl (6 mos.?), she was a bit fussy but we had great seat mates around us. They were experienced travelers and also family people who had been in our position. I learned a lot from that trip and have tried to "pass it on" when other families were traveling with children, being as sympathetic as others were to us.

If you have a good seat mate, that may be the difference between :) and :worried:.

Good luck!

When my DD was 9mths old we traveled from Richmond VA to Phoenix AZ. I went with my mother & Grandmother. Due to my mother traveling a lot for business, she was automatically upgraded to first class. She decided to bring my DD (her granddaughter) with her and relax in first class. My daughter slept most of the trip and cooed at the other passengers. The first class passengers on this particular trip loved it and played with her a bunch. I even had a few of my DD's "new friends" from first class wait for me when exiting the plane so they could compliment me on her....

So, it is possible to have nice people in first class.... but you may not have a good experience either.

If it were me, I would book two seats in economy... I flew to WDW when my daughter was about 2 (two week before her bday) and although she could have flown on my lap, I was grateful that she had her own seat. It was much easier and comfortable for both of us. It also helped me to keep her entertained because I could play toys and color with her sitting next to me.

For a toddler, I would get the extra seat!

I have flown first class with infants and toddlers. Just remember that, even if he has "ants in his pants" not to let him wander in the aisle. When my kids were small, I had several new toys/books/cookies/etc in my carry on that I could pull out in stages during the flight. Helped to keep them occupied.
