Hey All! My DH and I are heading to Disney for our 1st Anniversary (we got married down there last Sept ) and we are looking for some ideas on what to do other than spending it in the park on rides. I know there are ALOT of restaurants. Our fav is Yachtsman, but we might try Shula's this year. We are staying at the Boardwalk Villas, but we aren't limited to that area since we will have our car with us. Any romantic ideas? We are open to suggestions! Thanks!! :yay:

The only romantic idea I've got involves Pick-a-Pearl. I hadn't gotten an engagement ring when we got married. So for our 25th, DH picked the pearl and I picked the setting. Since the pearl is also my birthstone, it's really nice. For our anniversary dinner, we've gone to Artist Point resturant about 8 times/years.

BTW, DH is also from the Chicago suburbs-up north.

when I was staying at POFQ last year there were horse drawn carriage rides around the french quarter and riverside, it looked like a nice ride. I'm not sure if that's only offered for guests of those resorts, but you could look into that?

Dinner at the GF and then take a boat to MK to see the fireworks - try to grab the boat at sunset - it is breathtaking and romantic (and free :thumbsup2).

or Watch the fireworks from the Poly beach

Thanks for the ideas ladies!! I've heard great things about dinner at GF restaurants, but my husband won't eat seafood or really anything but beef and pizza. Makes for a VERY hard time finding good places to eat. Grrr. :)

I will look into all your ideas....I like the idea of the fireworks too!

We love the BWV!! Spend an evening strolling the boardwalk and enjoying the performers. Have a relaxing evening in the hot tub. Enjoy a drink (alcholoic or not) on your balcony. (ALL INEXPENSIVE/FREE :thumbsup2)

Rent a sea raycer (either at the Epcot resorts or the MK resorts). This way you can get some fun pictures of the resorts and enjoy a different activity.

You could schedule a fireworks cruise for either Illuminations or Wishes. I don't know the current pricing on these, but I'm sure they could be expensive. Still, romantic, personal, fun, and "different".

My favorite thing to do is get a massage. We enjoyed couples' massages on our honeymoon (not Disney). I would book something at SSR spa. You can make a day or an afternoon/morning of it.

Congratulations on your anniversary. Whatever you do, enjoy the time together!
