I am new to these boards so I am sorry as I am sure this has been asked many times...but I have several 5 day World Hoppers from 1997 that I think each has 1 day left on it. My husband and I are flying to Orlando for just a little weekend get a way. We are hoping to hit our favorite spots in two or three parks in one day. Does anyone know if you have an unused day on your pass, can you still use it to hop to as many parks as we would like to in one day?? Do we need to check this pass at guest services or what is the best way to handle using these? Any and all information appreciated. :earsgirl:

Yes you can still use the passes. But you will have to go to guest services first. And they will issue a pass that will actually get you into the park.

I belive if you call DIS RES they can tell you what is left on the passes.

Good luck and have fun.

Welcome to the DIS, Like2Cruise!

If they were issued before the Animal Kingdom opened, you will not be able to use them to get into the Animal Kingdom.

I did call Dis Res as they said that unfortunately, I would have to have my tickets checked at the parks to determine if I have any days left. I am almost positive I have one so I think I will be ok that way.

Tlinden 16~ I read that "Very old passes that don't fit in the turnstiles may be exchanged at no cost for modern passes with the same number of days remaining. Currently (2004) old passes are honored at parks (Animal Kingdom especially) that were not built and open when the passes were first purchased. This added benefit was offered to simplify the record keeping system and reduce the number of different kinds of passes to keep track of. "

So I hope this is true as we really want to start at Animal Kingdom for the day. But maybe we will do our day differently...Thanks for your help!

I hope you're right, Like2Cruise. Some friends of mine used old passes a couple of weeks ago, and were told they couldn't go to the AK. Maybe they were just misinformed.

The ticketing system was converted in 1996, so you should be fine. Passes from 1997 should be ATS compatible.

As for whether or not they're expired, that's something you'd have to tell us! :) There are some types of hopper passes that do expire. You need to look at that the back of the ticket. There should be a whole lot of fine print, and then beneath that, some additional stuff. In that additional stuff, if it doesn't say "Must be used by..." or "Valid for only X days after use...", your tickets are still good.

Have a fantastic trip.

Any ticket that was printed before AK opened is now valid for admission to AK as well as the other 3 parks, however, it will have to be exchanged at Guest Relations before it will work in our turnstiles.

Thanks to everyone for responding...I have one more question for SyracuseWolvrine or anyone else that knows for sure...since my ticket is a World Hopper that I bought in 1997 without an expiration date :D will we be allowed to hop to more than one park in one day?? Thanks again!!

I would expect you'd be able to park hop just as you would if the Ticket was a current one. I've been to WDWclose to 20 times, save everything, and often come accross a pass with a day left. Heck, in 2003, I used a pass with one day left and no problem park hopping.

Yes, even though you have an older world hopper, it still has hopping privledges, to the best of my knowledge. (I'm not exactly sure what's involved in the ticket conversion process, so it may have to be re-encoded, but I don't see why it wouldn't be encoded as a hopper)
