We have never been to Chef Mickeys and haven't been to GF since they switched up the characters. Can someone tell me which the prefer? Are the food choices pretty much the same?

1900 Park Fare for dinner is a hoot, the Royal Family is hilarious and the food is not bad.

Chef Mickey's is fun, the characters are great, but I really don't care for the food.

Oooh, tough one. I would say that I prefer Chef Mickey's though. The characters are fun and I love the atmosphere. Where the food items aren't the most exotic things you will find on a Disney restaurant menu (like Boma or Ohana), it is still fun. I've eaten there once for dinner and once for breakfast and there are fun, Mickey-shaped offerings such as Mickey waffles for breakfast and Mickey ravioli and Mickey oreo pudding things for dinner. I think it's all of those factors mixed together that make it so popular!

I did not like Chef Mickey's for dinner at all when we ate there last. I loved it for breakfast. There is no way you'll get me to eat dinner at Chef Mickey's again.

We're trying 1900 PF in December. Our DS loves Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters so we're giving it a go.

We ate at both 1900 PF and Chef Mickey's this past February. We had dinner with Cinderella and her royal family and loved both the food and the character interaction. Plus, being at the GF was a treat in itself! We had breakfast at Chef Mickey's and loved everything about it as well. I am hesitant to try dinner at Chef Mickey's only because I've read several negative reviews in regards to the food on the buffet.

We were just there the end of Sept and did Chef Mickey's for dinner and 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. We did 1900 PF for dinner on our last trip to WDW in 2008.

I much, much prefer 1900 PF than Chef Mickey's. The food was much better and the character interaction was better, too, in my opinion.

The characters at 1900 PF spent much more time with us, than those did at Chef Mickey's. Seems like they couldn't wait to get to the next table at CM.

But, this will depend upon the characters that you want to see. If you have your heart set on Mickey, then Chef Mickey's is the way to go.

This was our first time at Chef Mickey's....and I think it will be our last, but we'll be back to 1900 Park Fare, for sure....that is, we'll go back as soon as I can convince my DH that we absolutely must have another trip to Disney...;)

We did both our last trip for dinner and I thought the food was better at 1900 Park Fare. Character interaction at both places was good, but more rushed at Chef Mickey's.

We just had dinner at Chef Mickey's last night. We have never eaten at 1900 Park Faire (maybe next time!), but I can tell you the food at CM's was "eh", the characters came by very quickly, and the birthday cake I ordered for my son was brought out without my prompting, before I even finished my salad! I don't think we'll be returning there for dinner. We may try breakfast there next time.

After enjoying 18 years of delicious Disney meals, to this day, Chef Mickey's is still my favorite dinner we've ever had. We try to make sure we go there every trip (except for the years that Mom really didn't think it was "necessary" to make an ADR :rotfl:). We've been to 1900 once (enough said). The food was decent, but the atmosphere didn't have the same appeal to us that Chef Mickey's does (however, my DH did love the pb & j uncrustables that they had at 1900). I love the open feel that CM gives in the middle of the lobby. In reality, the food was very similar in quality, I just love the feel of CM. Also, I think the desserts at CM are much bettr- and a wider selection.

Either way, I don't think you can go wrong. But here's one vote for Chef Mickeys! :cheer2::banana::cheer2:
