i have heard first hand accounts from people returning from recent wdw trips that the park fare buffet has changed, they are reporting that they experienced different and fewer dinner offerings than experienced in the past. Most important for my kids, they all report no more soft serve ice cream machine, they have always loved this and were looking forward to our dinner there in a few weeks. Anyone else encounter similar experiences at park fare recently? With price increases to dining plan for 2012, and further cutbacks, the dining plan is looking less and less like a "good deal".

Oh, I hope not. I am planning on my DGD and I to eat there during out trip in Sept.

We ate there for the first time 2 weeks ago.

We really enjoyed the food and the characters, but I was also disappointed that there was no soft serve ice cream. My kids like that. Also, they had this very yummy apple desert and it was missing the ice cream.

We were there a few weeks ago and, I know everyone is lamenting the ice cream machine being gone, but there are so many other things that were delicious. DH enjoyed it all and I tried some new things too. It was a good dinner and the characters are still very entertaining.

We ate there in Oct and LOVED it! My DD's were chosen to dance with Prince Charming and Cinderella! It was a good dinner and very entertaining:) HTH!

:(

This must have just happened b/c the disboards menu shows Edy's soft serve for breakfast on the menu dated 5/11. May need to change our reservation. It is our last breakfast & we wanted to surprise the kids w/ ice cream at breakfast.

thanks for all the responses. definitely not a deal breaker for us, kids will be a little disappointed as they are usually not too jazzed about other dessert offerings. but after a week of disney dining skipping a dessert here or there probably not a bad thing....

I will have to re think going there if the ice cream is gone. DD has food allergies and it is one of the desserts she could have.

We recetly did breakfast at 1900 PF and felt they really had limited the selection since the last time we dined here. Definitely noticed the ice cream gone. :( My DD13 has food allergies and wasn't with us this trip, but we noticed that if she was, she wouldn't have anything to choose from for anything sweet. Might have been different if we had a chef come out, maybe they have selections in the back that can accomodate the specific allergies, but there wasn't much of anything out that she could have chosen from.

I agree. I was VERY disappointed with the food/dinner at 1900 PF. I loved the character interaction. it was hilarious! But the food wasnt great. It looked like they had a food shortage. And the things that were offered looked gross. I loved the characters am im glad i went for that, but I wouldnt go back because of the food.
