Any reviews. We went years ago, and some relatives are going for a birthday this summer. Is it a yes or no? :wizard:

1900 Park Fare is our family's favorite. And that's even including two teenage boys! Unlike most other buffet restaurants at WDW, it is generally quiet, beautifully elegant, and has a better quality of food. (ALthough I think it has declined a little in the last 12-18 months.)

I have found the waitstaff to be friendly and helpful, and the chefs are informative.

Character interaction can be a bit limited because it is usually just Cindy, Prince Charming, and the mice. ON the other hand, having a character encounter with Prince Charming was fantastic! My (then) 9-yr-old DD was enraptured. :lovestruc

1900 Park Fare is exquisite. Amazing, delicious food, great character interaction. I went there on April 9 and am planning to return this September! :D

We were just there last week. It was our favorite for food and character interaction. When you look around though, most of the people sitting around us were little girls dressed up like princesses. An older couple next to us, the man asked Prince Charming to hold his video camera so he could propose. It was sweet. I really didn't see many teenagers though but they will love the food.

We loved Park Fare last year! I think it was our favorite dining experience! Having Prince Charming there was wonderful. My daughter had just gotten out of the hospital and has huge bruises all over her hands and arms from IVs. When Prince Charming found out what had happened he haid " Oh Princess" kissed both of her little hands and danced with her right there next to our table. Needless to say I was teary eyed and my daughter was glowing! It will always remind me of the magic of WDW! Oh.. lol.. the food was good too! It was better than normal buffet food and the desserts were yummy! The wait staff was great and very friendly. Its such a beautiful place too!

Loved it. My husband ususally does not think buffets are that great, but he loved the food here. Not the standard buffet type food. He still talks about this place. I would go for it. :thumbsup2

Great Food. Great Service. Wonderful atmosphere. Outstanding Character interaction.

By far the best character meal for the money!!!!!!

Our family goes everytime we visit the Orlando.

I am actually EMBARASSED to ask this...BUT where exactly is this restaurant??? :confused3

I have been to WDW millions of times (not exactly, I am exaggerating) BUT it was not until I came on the DIS Boards :disrocks: that
I kept reading about 1900 PARK FARE :confused3 !!

UGH....

To the OP: Sorry for the OT :offtopic: but since you brought it up and DISer's have mentioned this place over and over again I had to ask....

SO ANYONE: Where is it located? And is it really good and popular? AND how long has it been in WDW????? :rolleyes2

TIA :thanks:

Park Fare has become a favorite for me since i dined there for dinner last summer. I would definately go there!

Its located in the Grand Floridian hotel.

Is it a BIG secret as I have never even heard of it so I have never given it any thought at all.

Now is it PRICEY? Is it a NEW restaurant in the GF?

Is it good? Is it real fancy?

I was looking for a place to have DS' 18th bday two years ago and the best place I could find for a really nice restaurant was California Grille at the CR!

Thank you to all that reply.

Promise OP: no more ? after these!!!! :wave2:

to actually get from your resort to 1900 Park Fare, if you weren't staying at the Grand Floridian? DD and I are staying at Old Key West, and she *needs* her Mickey waffles! :)

Hopefully we can still get an ADR for August. Is the breakfast on the DDP, by the way?

Thanks so much!

If you like buffets, this is supposed to be a good one. we found the restaurant to be fairly noisy, the food was ok for a buffet (I'm NOT a buffet fan) and the character interaction was great! my favorite items on the buffet were the shrimp/asparagus alfredo pasta and the bread pudding with custard sauce.

it was a great way to meet Cinderella and Prince Charming, but I wouldn't go just for the food.

both dinner and breakfast are 1TS credit on the dining plan.

They seem to have changed the characters around over the last few years at 1900 Park Fare. We went in '01 for breakfast (which was fabulous, by the way) and saw Alice, Pinocchio, Gepetto, Mad Hatter. Now it is called "Supercalifragilistic" Breakfast, so I assume Mary Poppins & friends (which could mean anything really). We are going for the Cinderella dinner for the 1st time, and are pretty excited about it, esp. after reading these great reviews!

Now the breakfast is usually Mary Poppins, Alice, the Mad Hatter, Tigger, and Pooh. Very yummy breakfast foods. I would say this one is right up there with Crystal Palace for my favorite breakfast in Disney World.
***********

We did the dinner our first night at Disney, and it was my DH's favorite meal of the trip! He sampled the prime rib and the salmon entree on the buffet and thought both were very good. I was in the mood for something lighter, and found a nice penne pasta with red sauce and veggie dish. Our 3 year old DD is extremely picky, but they had chicken drumsticks and I cut the meat off the bone for her and she liked it.

The desserts were terrific. I had ordered the white chocolate slipper dessert for my DH, as it had been his birthday three days earlier and this was our celebration. Beautiful! DD helped him with it; she had also gotten some soft serve ice cream and topped it with M&Ms before DH's dessert came. I had a brownie.

Character interaction was great too, although for some unaccountable reason my DD was scared of Prince Charming. (I guess it takes more than a returned shoe to charm my daughter!)

I actually thought the restaurant was remarkably quiet when we went there for dinner, given the number of families. I guess it depends what you are expecting!

How is the park fare breakfast as well?? Characters and food??

1900 Park Fare is our favorite off all. (We have done most character meals in the past 5 months.)

1900 Park Fare breakfast was AWESOME. We had my DDs birthday "party" there this year, just one friend and her parents. They had never done character dining. The service was great, the food was excellent and the characters were superb! I also love the atmosphere. From the moment I pull up to the front of the Grand Floridian, to walking through the front door! It all helps to set the mood. We had a late seating, and by the end we were one of only a few tables still there, and the characters were still out and about!

The characters we saw were Mary Poppins in the lobby, Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter (he was very funny, and sang HB to DD when they brought her cake out), and Pooh and Eeyore - (they rotate the Pooh characters). They were quite a pair that day and very very playful!

Here's some pics if you would like to see. The 1900 Park Fare pics start at the 1900 Park fare sign and end with Alice wearing DDs birthday tiara!

We have done dinner with Cinderella as well, and that too was a wonderful experience.

We ate there on our last trip and loved it. We had a wonderful breakfast and it was not very crowded. Next trip we will be trying it for dinner. I hope it is just as good.
