Tell me about your experiences and how was the food?
I just cancelled my Sci-Fi reservation to try out this dinner buffet.

The character interaction is fantastic. The stepmother and stepsisters are absolutely hysterical!

The food is upscale, the selections are fewer (I think) than Crystal Palace, but still a good mix.

Our server was wonderful, very attentive. We needed some help from the chef and he was there to answer our questions in a moment.

The GF lobby is magnificent so leave some time to walk around.

Yummo! 1900 Park Fare is our favorite buffet on property. The food is cooked in smaller portions so it is hot and fresh. The salads, the entrees, the veggies, the dessert...it was ALL good:love: It costs a little more but it is so worth it.

As a note, they were also great with character interaction too. The very attentive waitress always made sure we had everthing we needed and she kept track of the character visits making sure my DDs had enough time with everyone.

That is great to hear that the chef is very helpful. My son has multiple food allergies and we will definately need his help. I'm hoping that if there is nothing for him they will make him something easy.

They are great with allergies. My youngest DD is allergic to nuts, eggs, and bananas on top of being a picky eater. The chef came to our table
and talked about what they had and asked what she would eat. I told him she likes pasta with marinara sauce. Although they already had it on the buffet, he insisted on making it fresh for her to eliminate any chance of cross contmination. Very nice:wizard:

I'm interested in this so I'm subscribing to hear more.

How is everyone dressed for dinner there? Grand Floridian is not DH's favorite resort, but I'm hoping to change his mind if the meal here is good and it isn't dressy. And for those who have attended the breakfast at 1900 - how is everyone dressed?

Thanks!

I'd like to know this too--we are thinking of trying this on our next trip. From what I've been reading it really sounds fun.

Disney is wonderful if you have food allergies. Please take time to head over to the DISabilities board and the folks over there will have a lot of practical advice for you. My DD was worried about taking her DD but we found that there is no place better to be. A chef told me they are trained in 40 different food allergies.

The food is good, and the character interaction is terrific! The people there are dressed for the parks, for the most part. I did not see anyone all dressed up but most were pretty casual.

We had a great experience last year with Disney chef's and my son never once had any issues. I was so thankful for them! :worship:

My DD feels that there is nowhere else that she can take Kady and have her experience the same level of dining as the rest of us. She is generally okay for dinner and lunch but breakfast is truly an issue for a kid with allergies to dairy and eggs. Things like toast cannot be trusted and kids cannot live on bacon alone. Last October Kady had her first waffles and pancakes since she was diagnosed, just watching her enjoy such a simple pleasure was worth every penny we spent on this trip and the reason why there are no other vacation destinations planned for a while.

I understand how you feel about Disney Chefs, I got recipes and tips for cooking these treats and my Kady has enjoyed her pancakes almost every day since our return.

My son outgrew his egg allergy but we still deal with the dairy one. He also had a wheat allergy that he outgrew. It was very hard to feed him until about age 4 and he was picky too!
YOu said it very well above about how I feel as well. I'd take him back to Disney for every single vacation until he outgrows these allergies. He feels "Normal" at Disney. They make it safe for him. :thumbsup2

We really liked the the food. It may have been one of our favorite meals. We did dinner. I did not see anyone dressed up. Typical Disney/park attire!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE 1900 PF. We will be going again for our November trip. I noticed when we were there people were dressed for the park and some were dressed in polo type shirts and shorts. I wore a tank top and shorts and felt underdressed, but that is just me.

We loved it here. We were happy with the characters and the food. My DD got to see Cinderella and Mommy took a picture with the Prince :lovestruc
An added bonus was getting to see the huge gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian.

Woo-Hoo 2nd post! Last time we ate here was in 2000 when it was the Villains dinner. We went after a day in the park and my kids were hot and sweaty and looked like they had been in the park all day! We felt VERY under-dressed with all of the very properly dressed young children. I have ADRs for the 1900 Park Fare this trip and can't wait - planned it on our rest day - water parks in AM - go back to get dressed up and then have dinner - fireworks show and hopefully electric water parade! DD (3) can't wait to eat with Cinderella!
