For our trip this summer, we want to visit some resorts that we haven't been to before. One I want to make sure we get to is the Grand Floridian. We won't be on the dining plan, so cost is a bit of a factor, but it isn't like we couldn't afford to go to the dinner buffet. What would you choose?

One other question, the chilled Strawberry soup is available at both breakfast and dinner, right? Otherwise, that might tip the scale.

While I've been for both breakfast and dinner, I chose breakfast. We were just there in January for breakfast and really enjoyed it. I don't remember about the strawberry soup....someone else can answer that for you. Honestly, you can't go wrong w/ either!

My family went to PF for dinner last May and left hungry. The food did not appeal to any of us and we're not a picky bunch. The stepsisters are the only reason to go to dinner here. The breakfast was good although not my favorite character breakfast. I've never tried GFC so I can't help with that.

We loved the breakfast food and Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter are characters there (along with Mary Poppins, Tigger and Pooh) and the new Alice in Wonderland movie comes out in March.

Never been to the dinner but dinner might be a good choice if you want to see the Grand Floridian because there is an orchestra and piano player that alternate in the lobby but generally both only play from around 3 to 9pm. We enjoyed the music a lot when we went there for dinner at Citrocos one night. We did meet Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella in Magic Kingdom at the Halloween party and I assure you that they are hysterical in a very funny way.

Although I've never been for dinner, I voted Breakfast because we absolutely loved loved loved our breakfast at 1900 PF there this past summer! The whole family loved the breakfast options, especially the omelets and the cheesy eggs and the character interaction with the Mad Hatter was awesome! He had us in stitches! The GF cafe was fine, kind of a regular menu, perfectly wonderful, but we can eat at a restaurant like that here at home. We just really liked the breakfast buffet!

I have been to both and they are both very nice. I voted breakfast for the cost is not much and I liked the food a little better . With that being said the characters are better and a hoot at dinner IMO. I do not think you can go wrong with either and the GF is a georgous resort.

Just returned from a late Jan. early Feb. stay and ate 7 of our 10 breakfasts at PF. DH and I love their breakfast buffet with the exception of the SLOWEST toasters on Earth! We are not big on dinner buffets, but give me Mickey waffles and strawberry soup and I am a happy camper.

We ate there for both meals. I'd probably go with dinner though if you want to see the GF. First of all I hate giving up my mornings to a sit down meal unless it's in a park because those are valuable minutes you don't have to be waiting on long lines. I loved the dinner there the characters especially the stepsister were great. I thought the food was good and you definitely have alot of choices. I don't remember the strawberry soup at dinner but it was there for breakfast. Plus, if you book a dinner around 6:30-7 you can go out on the patio by the marina afterwards and watch the fireworks! It's a beautiful hotel, enjoy!

We ate there in 2007 for both and loved it both times. I realize it's different now since they have less offered, but I do know they still have their signature strawberry soup at both meals. :goodvibes
I have to say, if your looking for more options breakfast is the way to go.
Does anyone know if they still have the chef cooking any kind of pasta out in the buffet area anymore?
