1900 Park Fare Dinner

Just curious if anyone has done the dinner with Cinderella at 1900 Park Fare and what they thought about it. We're scheduled to have dinner there our first night and it will be our DD's 1st trip @ 2.5 yrs.

We loved it, and in fact will be back on Thanksgiving this yr! Cinderella and the stepfamily are so in character, it's very funny. Lady Tremaine is a little intimidating for younger ones, but still has a soft touch. If you go, you can ask when you arrive to be seated in the main dining room. Every 20 min. or so, the Prince comes out w/Cindy and they dance in the center of the room. Then if your DD wants to she can come to the center as well, and dance w/Prince or Cindy. They will each come to the table for pics and autographs. A lot of girls dress up like princesses, but you don't have to of course. You can opt to skip the picture they'll ask you to take before seating - it's just against a castle background, no characters or anything. The food was good - definitely try the strawberry soup!

I will warn you however that it gets very loud, as the stepsisters are running around singing and cackling, in case your DD is bothered by lots of noise - I just remember my DD(then 6) saying how people should not bring babies here, because it would be too noisy for them! But you will find this at most of the charcater meals from all the children, but having "speaking" characters here makes it a little louder. HTH!

We love this dinner. The food was great and the Ugly Step sisters are a stitch. They were rolling around on the floor fighting over a shoe. It was great. It is a bit loud but well worth it.

Great to hear!! We are going in 3 weeks (WOO HOO!!) and are so excited about this dinner - we have seen some great you tube videos!

Thanks for the tip about requesting to sit in the main dining area - my girls would love to see the dancing!

We loved it as well...great food, some not so standard buffet items, attentive service and FABULOUS characters! It was honestly our favorite dinner buffet and we plan to go back next year.

We had the most amazing experience at 1900 Park fare! Definitely ask to be seated in the main dining area - even if you have to wait - it's so worth it.

I read somewhere on the DIS if you have a boy or man in your party willing to play along, buy a cheap ring and have him propose to one of the step-sisters! Well, my wonderful teenage boys agreed to do this and people actually asked them if they were part of the show since the sisters gave them so much attention.

I know this may sound incredibly insane, but after we get married on october 4th we will be there at about 4.30pm & we will be dining here - in full bridal attire too!

Get there early, we were there early for our 4:30 reservation last year and my girls were in their princess dresses and got to open the restaurant with Cinderella and Prince Charming.

We tried 1900 for the first time in June and LOVED it. The food was good and the characters were HILARIOUS! It was so much fun I hated when we were done eating and had to leave. It is a definite "must do" again for us!

It is in the beautiful Grand Floridian hotel. THe food is good and the characters are great. Last time we wnet, they had all teh kids come up and dance. The first tiem we went , DDwas the first little girl to get to dance withthe price. Ahhh...a memory I will NEVER EVER forget...it was so precious!!!

@ Bearvet, thats HILARIOUS!!!!!! Lol! Love that your boys played along. The step sisters are H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved them. Very entertaining ladies. The character experience was so much fun, and i love the GF. Its gorgeous. The only downfall was the food. I didnt like it. Poor selection. The kids section was bad too. I know they change the theme up sometimes, the 2nd station to the right is the one that changes. Well that particular night i wasnt fond of what they had. The desserts werent impressive either. I wouldnt go back because of the food. Glad i went once thou.

We ate there this past December and while we loved the stepsisters, we thought the food was just ok. Even though we didn't think the food was all that great, I do think it was worth it for the characters .

I think it depends on what you are looking for - DH and I had dinner there a couple of weeks ago (2 adults, no kids). We agreed there is a reason why they call them "character meals" instead of "meals with characters." The characters were fine (we were off in the side room - by the way, we had much better interactions with the Tremaines at Magic Kingdom) but the food and service were just ok. We rated it as a restaurant on our B list (we have 3 lists, A for must dos, B for ok but in no hurry to return, and C for won't go back again). I think if you are looking for good food, you would want to look elsewhere. If the combination of characters and food are your thing, it could be ok. As an aside, for character meals, we had a pretty good meal at Akershus this past trip. We had good meals at Garden Grill in the past as well, but both of those require theme park admission to Epcot.
