I can only speak about breakfast in Oct. 2009 but we are going to the 1900 PF dinner next trip. I can't imagine that the dinner food is bad. I have heard that the wait for dinner can be long... so we are going at 4:30pm when 1900 PF first opens for dinner to hopefully avoid that.
Breakfast was quite a full buffet. All the food was fresh. There was a yogurt bar, cereal, pastries and breakfast breads, sausage and gravy, cream chipped beef, custom omelets, lobster eggs benedict (yum), breakfast meats, etc.... Service was great! Characters were very nice, especially Mary Poppins and the Mad Hatter... the Mad Hatter was.... well.... Mad! (as in crazy). He was very loud and funny. Alice is a bore. Mary Poppins was quite true to form... Tigger and Pooh were there too.
I'm looking forward to trying dinner. I'm pleased that they have the strawberry soup at dinner too. It's Mary Poppins' favorite! When people say the dinner food was bad, I wonder what the comparison is. I think Crystal Palace has an awesome lunch and dinner buffet. Hollywood and Vine, not so much... but I still wouldn't say H&V is "bad", but certainly nothing notable. We use the dining plan, but if I was paying cash at the end of each meal, I might get more upset about the food quality at H&V.
In 2009, we met Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters at
MNSSHP and they were quite a riot. Cinderella and Prince can dance with the little girls. We are going to see L. Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella!
