We are planning on free dinning in Dec. We are arrive late afternoon and thought a nice Buffet for dinner would be nice. We would like to do this in a resort and not do a park that night. It would just be 2 adults. Would we feel out of place with all the characters interacting with children.

In the past we have done Cape May Cafe Clam Bake Buffet and the one at the campground. Are their any other resorts with dinner buffets.

Thanks for the help

No, you will not feel out of place. This character dinner actually has an adult-humor element, I felt. We saw tables with only adults or parents with their older teen children, and the step sisters and step mother really had fun with them. Every character meal at WDW is for everyone, but I esp. think this one is great for adults. Have a wonderful time! :thumbsup2

We've done Park Fare w/o little kids; the kids with us were tweens and teens (in that 'this is kind of lame' stage ) and we had a lot of fun. I don't think you'd feel out of place at all. I had lots of laughs and the food is pretty good and plentiful.

Other character meals - Chef Mickey's @ the CR; the Poly has a character breakfast and that is all I can think of right now. :goodvibes

We went without kids in May and had fun HOWEVER this meal is all about the characters. The food was not good at all! If you're just going for the experience and not the food it's worth it.

The character experience at 1900 Park Fare Dinner is great but the food was not so good. Hope this helps.

The only thing positive I can say about 1900 PF is the characters are a riot...the noise level is ridiculous and gave us both a headache, the service was terrible and the food was horrid

Very long wait to be seated even though we had a 5 pm ADR. Waited about 45-60 minutes after being seated for the 1st character and that's because we spoke to teh manager about the long wait. She was very polite, friendly and apologetic. We had to wait about another 45 minutes for the characters to come around. The food was not good. DH and I are not picky eaters. DH will eat basically anything and he even complained.

The characters were great and DD was in heaven! :cloud9: For that it was worth it!

Love 1900 or really any character meals. Good food & fun no matter what age you are.

Perhaps if you are going more for the food...try Ohanas over at the Poly. It is family style eat as much as you want....gets great reviews. We are trying this one for sure. With 1900 it is more about the characters and not so much about the food. Just a thought.

I'd go somewhere else like Kona or Ohannas. We go to the Park Fare every year with the kids. There are a lot of kids there. For adults only I'd go somewhere more mature. Narsoosees is a good choice.

You absolutely will NOT feel out of place. BK (before kids), my wife and I made several trips to WDW. We did character meals ALL the time, and never felt like we were out of place. We DID make an effort to be as quick as we could with the characters, just so they could move on to the kids...but that was just our preference, not anything I would suggest to anyone else.

Have a blast!!

:cheer2: Well, I am 50. Love the characters and love the meal. Just went in May and now only have 54 days until the next visit. We're going back!!

As PP stated, there is also Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort that is a character meal buffet. There is also Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge that has the skillet that is all you can eat with all you can drink milkshakes. :cool1:

The room itself is not very attractive as I remember...I remember it having no windows. There are better buffets to be had in prettier locations.
