We're celebrating our middle daughter birthday and oldest daughter kindergarden gradution at 1900 Park Fare and I wanted to order a cake but my DH thinks it's a waste of money because there are dessert at the buffet. We've been to several buffets and the desserts are good but nothing to special. I really want to get the white chocolate slipper filled with raspberries. I need to convince him this is better then the desserts offered.

I would definitely special order the slipper! It's only $15 and your girls' eyes will light up. I myself am hoping that one will arrive at my table when we dine at 1900 Park Fare on Mother's Day!

I have to agree with the slipper idea. We have done my daughter's bday at Disney many times and, as a result, have ordered several cakes (from disney restaurants and hotels). The cake just never gets eaten, and they are so expensive it is a crime to throw them away. At a restaurant (especially a buffet like 1900 PF) there is so much other yummy stuff to choose from. I understand wanting to make the girls feel special, though. The slipper is the perfect compromise, IMHO. When our daughter said she wanted to go to 1900 this year for her bday dinner, I knew that was exactly what I would do. It is the perfect size that by the time everyone has a taste (if she chooses to share) we will still have room to sample the other goodies at the buffet, she will have something special with a candle to blow out, and I won't have to feel bad about spending so much on a cake that wasn't eaten.

I have been having this same dilemma. Will they bring out a special cupcake or something for the birthday girl, other than the buffet desserts if we don't order something? Would the slipper be good for a 4 y.o.?

Yes, they will bring out a bday goodie if you don't order a cake. I can't remember exactly what 1900 PF does (a cupcake I think), but I do remember that the table was decorated with confetti and there was a laminated placemat for our daughter with Cinderella and Prince Charming on it. Just have it notated on your ressie and they should bring something out after your meal.
