Who has experienced this and would you recommend it? Rate the food and character interaction. I do not do meals at CRT because I think it is perhaps the most overrated thing on property not to mention the price vs quality of food. I think the Princess Breakfast at Norway is well worth the price based on character interaction alone (plus they were super accomodating, offering my dd a mickey pancake, etc). We have done the Mary Poppins meal but it was at the GF cafe at the time and was breakfast. Tell me about the Cindy dinner at GF...
Thanks:)
Kim

I really liked our meals there. I was a little worried before our trip last month because I had been reading reviews that weren't very favorable, but we were pleasantly surprised that it was still good. Character interaction was fun and the service was wonderful too. If you want to read more and see pictures, click the second link in my signature - dinner at 1900 PF is already in my reviews there.

We had a wonderful time at this dinner! I was a little worried because we did it mainly for our granddaughter, but we also had DS (15) along with us. He ended up having as much fun as everyone else because of the stepsisters! They kept coming by our table and joking and teasing with him. I was actually surprised that he got into it as much as he did and joked back with them!

As for the food...it was actually pretty good. DS and DSIL (who are both picky eaters) listed this meal, Chef Mickey's, and Ohana's as their favorites. I thought the variety was good. There were lots of things that I would eat (veggies, salads, and such), several different meats, and even lots of things for our granddaughter! Everyone in our group was happy (which is not always a possibility!).

The food was good, maybe some of the better buffet we had during our trip. BUT...the character interaction MADE the experience. Prince Charming was stuffy, Cinderella was...well, a princess, however, the step mother and sisters interacted amazingly with the guests and each other. They would call across the resturant at each other. Lady Termaine put one sister in the corner for time out. Another sister made a boy dance with her! It was Incredible. At first DD3 and DS5 were a little scared /stand-offish of Lady Termaine, but came around and had fun.

I agree that CRT is overrated...JMHO...a once in a lifetime experience that we lived through twice. DH and I decided that 1900 PF and PSB were better for our family and a better value too!

Our DD(4) loved it because she is a HUGE Cindy fan, but as you point out, we aren't overly impressed with CRT. The food is pretty good - different areas of the buffet with different types of food (e.g. Asian, Italian, French...). DW loves the strawberry soup there!

Pic below shows that even our DS(9) had a good, albeit embarrassing time :)

I will disagree about the castle as we just did lunch there. The entree wasn't that great, but it is cool to be in the castle and you get the picture package and the princesses. Since the tip is included at CRT, it wasn't that much more expensive than the Norway lunch and the food wasn't much better at Norway. The interaction for us was better at the Castle than Norway.

In this same trip, we also did 1900 Park Fare dinner and my DH liked that one the best because it was more of a show. It was VERY noisy in there and if you are not seated in the right place you miss most of the action. The interaction (when they visit your table) *can* definitely be the best of the 3 there. The food there was also the best, but there were not that many choices as other buffets (except for the desserts!)

We also had a terrific time at CRT. The interaction with the characters was 100% better than Akershus. We enjoyed that aswell but it just wasn't as special. Mary Poppins was less than impressed to be there, not that I'm sure why she was, she's not a princess. In saying that the kids want to go back to both. CRT was just that much more memorable. We are doing 1900 PF this time for the first time and really looking forward to it.

We did 1900 Park Fare this past Nov. My DH and I thought the food was very good. Alot of choices on the buffet and the pork roast and beef at the carving station were cooked perfectly. My ds and dd are picky eaters and I did not think there were great choices for them (ie pizza and rolls) but hands down the Stepsisters were great. Even my ds(5) got such a kick out of them. The characters spent plenty of time at our table minus Cindy. There was a wedding party in our room and I thought Oh no we'll never get the characters over here but I was wrong. On our night I would rate the food A-/B+, entertainment/character interaction A, service (drinks, plate clearing, celebration of anniversary) D - it was almost non-existent. We were not on the dining plan. Would we go again- Definitely.

DH and I did this last summer. We loved the food- excellent and lots of choices (we had no children with us). I thought the interaction was great- even for us as 2 adults. I was lots of fun to watch the interaction with all of the other guests as well. We ate early in the evening and most of the characters came around more than once during our time there.

We did 1900 Park Fair for dinner back in April 2008 and because it was so good again in December 2008. Wish we hadn't. The December time, the food was terrible. We couldn't find much to eat at all. The characters are great though. Service is not very good compared to other character meals in my opinion.

Of all the princess character meals, Askerhaus is still our favorite for breakfast. It's a must do for every trip. We have done them all and will keep going back to Askerhaus.

We were there last week and the dinner was lots of fun. A very NOISY restaurant (stepsisters yelled and screetched at each other throughout :rotfl: ) but good food and we had exceptional service. DS was celebrating his birthday, and she brought out a crown for him to wear (yes, he wanted the floor to open up and suck him in, but he was a great sport and played along just the same). Our server was also thoughtful enough to have his birthday cupcake brought in a to-go container so he didn't have to pass up any of the desserts on the buffet. I thought that was so kind!

Restaurant was beautiful, food was hot and plentiful, lots of great choices (even for our family, who has two very picky eaters). Characters were awesome.....definitely very "in character" for each of their roles. Overall, a great meal and a great time!

We also like this restaurant. It has become a must do and my kids are older(17, 13, 10). The food is good and the character interaction is great.

We were at 1900 this past christmas and the food wasn't that good. But the princess was great.

Hi
We were at 1900 last August. We had such a good time there, but didn't like the food. We don't eat meat, so that made the difference. The buffet that they used to have was so much better for us. Even the pasta this time had meat in it. There was only a few salads for us to eat. If you eat meat, you should be fine. The characters make it worth the trip!!
