We arrive 8/25. We are planning on going to MK on 8/26 . Staying at Grand Floridian and have an 8:30 am Supercalafragilistic bkfst (mary poppins & friends I believe)

While I am dying to go to this breakfast, I have a 4, 6, and 16 year old and I really want to follow TGM advice on touring the parks, which requires getting to the park well before it opens. Obviously, I have a decision to make since we won't get there till probably 10:30 if we eat at this breakfast.

How good is the food? Is it amazing? Any more wonderful than the bkfst at GF Cafe, Boma, Ohana's or Konah (all places we have breakfasts planned)

As much as *I* want to have this breakfast for the kids, I don't think hubby or 16 year old could care less..and truthfully, not sure Mary Poppins will make the little ones socks go up and down either....plus we have a Storybook Lunch scheduled, and I think she is there usually, right?

So, what would you do? Would you cancel it? or not? If I cancel, I will post on the August trade/cancel board first.

Would love to hear your reviews of this character breakfast. Thanks!

Julie

We did 1900 PF once and it was awful. The food was terrible and the noise level just about made me deaf. I would rather eat CS than eat here again.

I forgot to mention I was also concerned of the noise level as ds doesn't handle loud confusion well.

I reallly really wanted the strawberry soup and thought I HAD to eat there to get it. Well, the Disney recipe for it is posted all over the internet I just found. LOL

We had a nice breakfast there in May! It wasn't stunning, but it was very pleasant! There are some pictures in my food review if you are still deciding!

We liked 1900 Park Fare. But we also liked Kona.
If you're concerned about following TGM, maybe it would be best to skip 1900 Park Fare. While it is a buffet, you may end up waiting for characters to come around. Have you considered dinner instead?

Hi, yes, I have been calling 3-4 times a day for dinner to no avail. I am going to keep trying, but I really am holding out hope that perhaps there'll be a "last minute" availability while we're there. We are staying at the resort so I'll check at the podium each day. I've always had good luck with walk ups if we showed up before they opened. I won't set my heart on it, but I just have a feeling we may get in if we try that. If not, it's counter service or somewhere else.

I have to stop worrying about it or I won't have any fun! lol

I think I need to call a meeting with my little cherubs and see what they really want to do!

I had a breakfast ressie here for my trip, and after reading more negative than positives, I canceled it. We'll be going to the Cape May breakfast though. :)

hi,we ate there last dec. I thought it was wonderful, the hotel was decorated so beautifully for christmas and its not just mary poppins, alice was there who my twins loved and the mad hatter and also winnie the pooh. We are booked there again this dec.

As far as touring goes (we are TGM'ers too), when we want to do a TS breakfast, I try to get one of the last breakfast reservations possible so it ends up like a brunch. By the time we're done, it's usually close enough to afternoon break time to head back to the hotel. (We make sure we have a quick breakfast snack early that morning in the room before we leave for the parks.)

Have a great trip!:)

This might get me a lot of heat, but we used TGM our last trip, and I lost planning privileges after the third day. The rest of the group after that would ask me what TGM said to do so they could do something else and it worked after that. I wished I had taken an Unofficial plan too. It just didn't work for me. Maybe too many other people were doing the same thing. it kind of messed up our trip because I had all my ADRs planned around it. So what happened is we would have an ADR somewhere where the lines were too long to stay in the park anywhere and then we would just have to eat and then go somewhere else. We were bouncing around like crazy.

I believe you, but you are literally the first person I ever heard say that. I hear lots of other TGM complaints about the web site, customer service and whatever else shows up in those threads, but you are honestly the first person I heard say his park touring or least crowded charts didn't work. I'm just surprised. Sounds like a fluke to me based on my own TGM touring over the years (which is probably 8+ TGM trips).

Anyway, to the OP -- we just did breakfast at Akershaus and Mary Poppins wasn't there - not sure if she's always there at lunch or not. And I agree with the other person who said try to schedule a late breakfast. We rarely do TS breakfasts unless they're more like a brunch so we can arrive at RD. Others obviously, have different opinions.

it is hot in august, by going to breakfast and not getting to the park until 10, you lose some prime touring time and will arrive with the crowds. If the kids want to hit the parks, skip breakfast and grab something fast.

Where did you get that pic of your DD with Belle in your siggy? That is an absolutly gorgous picture!

If your main concern is getting to the parks before it open and you really want to have breakfast at 1900PF then plan it for a morning when MK opens early for EMH and book the latest ADR they have for breakfast, you'll get to hit some of the Big rides like SM and SM before the park gets busy and then leave for breakfast and then come back, maybe even get a few fastpasses before you leave for breakfast... okay that would work BUT I'm not crazy about planning my day like that anymore, I used to be WDW comando but I realized that wears everyone out, including myself! WDW is so big and there is so much to see don't knock your socks off trying to see everything that you don't enjoy yourself, you also miss out on so many of the small touches of Disney magic! Maybe try Crystal Palace for breakfast with Winnie the Pooh and friends, if you get an early enough ADR you can enter MK before the park opens to get to breakfast!

Just so you know "Ohana breakfast I strongly recomend, favorite meal our last trip! And I hear Boma is best breakfast in WDW, that why we are gonna try it in Sept!

I have an Ohana bkfst scheduled and a Boma bkfst scheduled..and a Konah bkfst scheduled..we booked a crystal palace lunch too.

I think my mind is almost made up...I'm just trying to bring myself to make the cancellation. I have tried other days but they are all booked. I think I just got this one on a fluke!

I have to agree with pp about Boma being an outstanding breakfast :thumbsup2 We did it with our group of 11 as our TTFN meal last Sunday and it was awesome. I was a bit concerned that since we had a late ADR (10:30) the buffet would be messy and the food wouldn't be replenished, but it ended up being just the opposite ... everything was immaculate and fully stocked and our waiter was terrific as well! :)

We did Crystal Palace with an 8:15 ADR on a Saturday morning and that worked out very well since the characters rotate around rather quickly (that's not to say they rushed interaction, we just didn't have to wait long between characters... which with little ones who don't eat much to begin with, is a great thing!!) and we stepped off the table and into the park within minutes of rope drop :woohoo:

We stayed at AK last time and bkfst at Boma was absolutely fabulous, which is why we are trekking all the way over there for an early bkfst this trip. My hubby will love it..he's a big breakfast guy and I thought it would be a nice break for him since I'm the Disney commando type.

I'm TRYING to plan enough on my own, secretly so as not to be a commando to my family. but the truth is, we have to plan it some extent!

We ate at 1900 PF in July- We ate both breakfast-supercalifragilist and dinner with the step-sisters and everyone in our party agreed the breakfast was excellent and would do it again and the characters were great and I dont think the noise level was that bad, the dinner on the other hand was very loud, the food was terrible but the characters were great and very entertaining. The reason the dinner was louder was they would announce all the characters over the speaker and they would start dancing and the sisters would argue and yell across the room where we didnt notice it at breakfast..hope this helps:)
