Hi! We wanted Ohana or Chef Mickey's (which we totally love), but they are both booked solid. We felt lucky to get 1900 Park Fare at less than a week out. Never been there...never even stepped foot in the Grand Floridian. So, tell me what to expect. We will be driving over and parking at the hotel. Our boys have no clue who mary poppins is, so we'll be having movie night tonight!

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

DH and I didnt like it at all...it is so noisy, the tables are pushed close together, the food wasnt that great, server was MIA and the Mad Hatter made me want to shoot myself...he was soooo annoying!

Hi, we went in Sept and this actually was the only character meal we could get for my daughter's birthday. We thought the food was pretty good comparable to the other breakfast buffets, and the kids esp liked that after breakfast was done they could make their own sundaes.
The characters were Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Tigger, and Pooh. I will agree our server was not very good as she didn't remember to bring the birthday girl her "cupcake" and be recognized or get her a birthday crown, we ended up complaining to a manager and he looked after it for us.
The resort is absolutely beautiful, very spacious and nice gift shops. A great view also of the water front from the 2nd level.
I would book prob to go back again, seeing as Alice came and sat at the table and chit chatted to our group (myself, friend, my daughter 8th birthday and my friends daughter who was 11). Mad Hatter seemed to like to try to cheer up the 11yr old who was pretty shy, such a card! I do agree though it is pretty noisy but I would not think it was any louder than chef mickey's with the monorail going through the restaurant or all the jack hammering going on when we were there, we found that really annoying!
Best of luck to you , but I don't think that you will be disappointed! We are hoping to get back in Aug or Sept ( I can't seem to find out how to get my counter off my page!)

It was nice too that you could have an omelete made here, and pick your items to go in it. There was also a nice Black forest ham that you could get pieces off of for breakfast along with the usual fare (bacon, sausage, hash brown potatoes, fruit, pancakes, muffins, etc).

Well, we've never "hated" anything disney, but it does make you wonder...why was it the only hotel character b'fast with an opening a week out? Alice is my favorite, so I'm excited. But that's selfish, yes. I do want the boys to have fun. I'm not going for the food, though it sounds good enough, so that's a plus :thumbsup2 Almost all reviews I've found throughout the web complain about the service. You'd think they'd have done something about it if everyone feels that way!

I guess we were fortunate. We went in November and it was great. The food was good, the service was fine & the character interaction was wonderful. My DDs are big Alice fans, so were beside themselves when she came to our table. And the CM was very in character. We are planning to go again this year.

We were there in Feb 2008. The food, service, & character interaction was great! Can't wait to go back in 2010.:thumbsup2

I wouldn't take that to mean it's a bad restaurant. You may have just gotten lucky when you called -- there are cancellations every day at every restaurant, and someone else lucks out when there's a cancellation, being in the right place & right time when that cancellations shows up on the reservation system. People talk about not being able to get in ultra-popular restaurants like Le Cellier 90 days ahead of time, every table booked; and then someone will post that they called 3 days before arrival and got Le Cellier.

This was the best breakfast we had at WDW in December. We had a great time. We ate at CP and Tusker House. It was great and the characters were fun. It is loud, but most character breakfasts are.

We had a very hard time booking this one too for Christmas. It was the last one I could get and it got it two days out.

1900 PF, either for dinner or breakfast are always a must do. The food is good. Breakfast, you cannot go wrong...same food different kitchen. Honestly. Can't go anywhere for breakfast at WDW that does not offer Mickey waffles. I was there for breakfast in January and was very pleased. The interaction was great and I did not think it was overly crowded as previous posters indicated. It's a matter of choice, but I was quite happy after my meal. The buffet had a nice selection of fruit, omelet selections, waffles, etc. The characters were a good mix of something different. Alice was kinda blah as was MP, but the Mad Hatter was a knee slapper! I am sure that you will enjoy your experience.

It is a great breakfast place.
We went to Disney in October for MNSSHP kind of last minute and decided that we really wanted to do a charcter breakfast the next morning and Park Fare was the only place avaliable, We had a late (10:20am) ADR. Had to wait a bit when we got there. First charcter we saw almost as soon as we sat down was the Mad Hatter. One of my DD was freaked out by him. At the end of our meal, after one last trip to the buffet, same DD see the mad hatter and he stopped and posed for a picture with her. Actually told us to go get the camera.

We went back to Disney in December, already had an ADR for 1900 Park Fare planed, and all my DD would talk about was the mad hatter.

Umm, You are LUCKY I tried getting a ressie for there for this week and no luck....My daughter just told me today again, how much she loved it and the mad hatter especially because he is SOOOOO silly!

from what I can remember ( the last time I was at this restaurant way 10 years ago) the food was great and so were the characters. The mad hatter saw me in the park after the breakfast and he remembered my name and was making a huge deal about it being my un-birthday. At the time it freaked me out because I was 10 but now that I look back on it I have to say that was one of the best Disney experiences that I ever had with a character. He did a great job.

We love it too - the characters and the food. All the characters come around several times. In particular the Mad Hatter is really funny - he visited with us 3 times and each time, his nose seemed to slide further off his face.

My kids - ages 20 and 21 - love to eat there.

Enjoy!

Ok - now I am getting excited! With all the great experiences coming forward, I feel better. I hope that this place becomes one of our favorites too. I put on Mary Poppins for my 6-year old last night and he seemed to like it, was giggling and such. And as always, hooray for mickey waffles! :lovestruc

We went there for breakfast for the first time last May, and thought it was wonderful! The food was great, and the characters spent a lot of time with our kids. Like you, we watched "Mary Poppins" (and "Alice in Wonderland") before our trip, so that our kids would know who they were meeting.

My DD (then 5), was sort of nervous about meeting characters with giant heads (like Tigger or Mickey), so this was a nice, easy way to ease her into the whole character thing. By the end of our trip, she was chasing Minnie across the park!

We booked the first breakfast of the day, (8am, I think?!?) and were able to catch the monorail to MK before rope drop!

We enjoyed ourselves. Just be prepared for a loud atmosphere. My sister loves Mary Poppins, so she was thrilled to hang out with her. The food was pretty good as well - standard character breakfast fare.

Hey - do they take pictures there that you can buy & take home on the spot (like they do at Ohana's and Chef Mickey's)? I can't imagine disney missing out on this money making oportunity, but you never know. It's so impossible to get a good family picture around the parks for us that I almost always buy these. :flower3:

We really liked the 1900 Park Fare breakfast. The mad Hatter was hilarious and my son really likes Mary Poppins. I do not even like breakfast foods and I was more than satisfied. The resort is gorgeous. I am certain that we will go back again. I recommend it.

They didn't take pictures there when we were there in September.
