Did anyone else hear the rumor that 1900 Park Fare is planning to replace the Cinderella/Prince Charming dinner with a Villains dinner? I just read it on another board.

Sorry if this has been discussed and I'm late to the party.

They had a villains dinner back in 2000-2002, it was discontinued. I doubt they'll replace any princess meals to bring it back.

Yeah, I don't think the villains dinner was overly popular, but a couple of months ago, there were rumors here about them changing the 1900 dinner (dropping the step-sisters), apparently, those were off as well.

One of the stories going around was that the villains dinner was discontinued because parents complained that the villains frightened young children. At any rate, princesses are the current moneymaker.

Don't know the characters for the restaurant they will build when they finish princessing up Fantasyland, but if there's a princess meal going in there they might think about doing something else with Park Fare.

I would be interested in a villians dinner. If I want to see Princesses there is CRT and Akershus.

interesting rumor! i would be totally excited about a villians dinner! especially with malificent!!! :cool1:

I have no clue who the rumor-spreader is, but I'm going to go back and see if I can find a link...

I don't have any idea what the veracity of this website is, but here's the link:

I’m hearing rumors that the 1900 Park Fare character dinner is going to change from Cinderella, her Prince, Stepmother and the evil Stepsisters to a villain dinner. Let’s be honest, Cinderella is great, but the real draw at 1900 Park Fare has long been the campy Stepsisters and Lady Tremaine. They’re hilarious. I think if they can make this fun and not too scary for little kids, this will be one of popular character meals in WDW.

The article was dated about a week ago....

I ate at 1900 back in Nov 2000 and it was a villians character buffet at that point in time. The food wasn't bad and I know they had Captain Hook and Cruella DeVille there..I have a pic of my husband with Cruella. We haven't been back since it was changed into a princess buffet, but my 7 year old would love a villians theme!

We love Cinderella's dinner at 1900 PF. Wouldn't mind the villians but would hate to see them get rid of the step-sisters, they are absolutely hilarious!!!

It's kind of funny to hear of this, afterall, they're villains!! ;) What did the parents expect? You should really know your kid before you take them to something that could be considered scary to them. :confused3

I think a villain buffet can be just as much of a money maker as the princess ones if they did it right! Especially with adults! I, like GrumpyBelle, would absolutely LOVE to see a villain buffet! I hardly run into them and only see them during parades! :( They could make it a dinner only thing and station it at a more "adult" restaurant or possibly in DTD. Kinda far-fetched to suggest DTD, but I'm just throwing out ideas. I only suggest it because I know a whole lot of adults who are missing the old PI. A villains buffet could be just the thing to spice it up! :woohoo:

I'm ready for a character meal with villians (or anything boy related)! Maybe adding a new character restaurant in Fantasyland will allow for a change somewhere else.

I went to the villains buffet at 1900 park faire in May 2000 on my honeymoon..It was the best character meal of the trip.I do remember a little girl refusing to go in and eat because the Queen of Hearts was the greeter and scared the pants off her.

They could make it a lot of fun, and not quite so scary. For instance, Captain Hook and Smead....The evil stepsisters from Cinderella....

We'd definitely go. My kids would get a kick out of it, especially my daughter.

I would love this. I would be more appropriate for boy too. My ds is always complaining that the character meals are either for babies or girls, (his words, not mine!). I think he would love a meal that wasn't princesses or pooh characters. Captain Hook, maybe Captain Jack Sparrow (although not really a villian) and other not so scarry characters. I think Cruella is scarry! But this would be something different and not your usually princesses and pooh!

I would so totally  a villain meal!!!!!

Dinsey should seriously consider one; maybe just to test during Halloween season. Serious bucks to be made.

We're doing 1900 Fare for the first time this Sept--can't wait can't wait can't wait!

I know we would love to have a villians meal. We did really enjoy the step sisters and have been to one too many princesses' meals. They are great for young kids, but as the children get older, they would get a bigger kick out of something different. Since all ages attend Disney, they should cater to all age groups and genders. There is a lack of characters for boys and I am sure my grandson would prefer other characters than just the Mickey gang and the princesses. We still have the 3-year old so he will still get his share of Mickey and Cinderella I am sure, but sure would like more characters for boys and the 10 year old granddaughter.

I had a really cool idea of how they could do a villains meal again, have it hosted by Jack and Sally from the nightmare before christmas, they could cusion the scaryness of the villians for the little ones because neither of them are evil, also their wouldn't be too many menanching villians (other words Queen of hearts, frollo, and Jafar would be out), instead Captain Hook, Smee, Maleficent, the stepsisters would make rounds, though I don't think little kids would stil go to it though :confused3

Maybe make it seasonal so it only happens when MNSHP is going on at the magic kingdom. :maleficent:

It wouldn't be a villain buffet if some of them are actually protagonists! If you believe the kids still won't attend with added protagonists replacing the more "sinister" villains, why even suggest it? :confused3

I think Disney should do a test run seasonally, Halloween being a really good time. After that, they should determine if it was successful enough to be full-time. If this rumor is true, this year's MNSSHP would be perfect (mainly because I'll be there during that time!)!
