1900 Park Fair???

Bless my little DS's heart. He is "helping" me get ready for our next trip to WDW in December. He has studied the maps and looked at the resorts and suggests that he would like to try "dining around the monorail." We will probably be trying 'Ohana's for New Year's Eve dinner, and we've done Chef Mickey's before but could probably do it again. That leaves the Grand Floridian. We are not big breakfast eaters, but we do enjoy character meals. I have heard almost nothing about the character meal at 1900 Park Fair? (Is that spelled correctly???) Anyone out there been there and willing to share?

We've eaten breakfast there at least a dozen time over the years, and it's never disappointed us. We love it. Great character interaction, excellent food and srevice in a wonderful atmosphere.

Much nicer than the LOUD FRENZY at Chef Mickeys...which I can do without at breakfast.

The breakfast at 1900 Park Fair is wonderful. We've eaten there 5 times and have always enjoyed our meal. Characters in the past have been Alice, Mary Poppins, Pinocchio, Gepetto, Mad Hatter and Pooh characters.

The breakfast buffet is the best I've had at WDW. The food seemed a little fresher, and you'll want to take a few minutes to see the GF(if you're not already staying there).

We did the Pooh character breakfast last year and loved it- great food choices including an omelette station and a little separate buffet area for kids (donut holes, fruit loops, mickey waffles etc.). We got a lot of character interaction (Alice, Eeyore, Winnie the Pooh and greeted by Mary Poppins). Every so often there's a calliope that starts playing spontaneously and the theming is nice (lots of carousel horses and little hot air balloons). The food was fresh, hot and plentiful (they regularly refilled the buffet items).

If you're not a big breakfast person, I guess it might be a bit pricey. Have you considered a very light early breakfast, then a late PS which you could use as brunch - take a break from the park and have an early lunch (don't know the hours, maybe someone else could help out).

I believe they now do a Cinderella dinner with Fairy Godmother, mice, Cinderella and Prince Charming. May not suit your ds, but might be worth a look.

Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Faire are two breakfasts that we make it to at least once each trip. Each has its own charm. I like walking around the GF and a trip to 1900 PF is a good excuse to get there.

Its a nice, comfortable atmosphere and you will probably see the best of all WDW characters, the Mad Hatter!! He hangs out there very often and his charm, wit and character are unmatched by any other. The guy doing it has been there for years. We have many pictures of our daughter with him through the years, from age 2 to 13.

Sounds like my boy has good taste. (CP is definitely one of our favorite character meals too! If PF is like it, we will probably enjoy.) It is DS's goal to "explore some other resorts" this time. (We're DVC'ers and have a tendency to stick close to the BW most trips.) DS has been reading my copy of Birnbaum's WDW and has developed some interesting (strange???) requests of his own for this next trip. It will be fun to explore his agenda, I think. If his agenda includes a PF, how cool for us all!

i had my bridal shower at 1900 park fair. the food was really outstanding and we had the best character interaction here of any breakfast i've been to.

I'd say that 1900PF is one of the more "elegant" buffet venues around, and breakfast is just fine. Dinner's not bad, either (at least it was good back in August, '02), but the character interaction just seems less harried.

IMHO, I think "foodwise" this breakfast (even compared to non-buffet breakfasts) has the best breatkfast food in all of WDW. Just wish they could get a little more consistency with the character part.

We dined here on a whim after watching our boys depart on the Pirate Cruise. We were going to eat at the GF Cafe, but while waiting for DH to come out of the restroom I saw PF across the lobby and decided that we would spend the same amount of money at the Cafe as we would at PF and since it was buffett and we had an 8 and 3 year old girls that didnt cruise we chose PF as a special treat for them. We walked up without a PS at about 9:30 am and was seated within 10 minutes. Mary Poppins was seated out front taking pictures and Alice, Mad Hatter and Pooh worked the floor (LOL)
It was very reserved and the Characters spent alot of time with the girls. It was not rushed at all! Matter of fact, they came around several times. The food was excellent and the Buffett was very clean. Not even a crumb was out of place! The Cold Strawberry Soup was my favorite and I had 2 bowls! Excellent fresh fruit and the pineapple was the sweetest my DH had ever had. I would say this is equivalent to an upscale cafe dining experience with characters. PF is not loud or raucous and you can really enjoy the food. We ate at Chef Mickey's and it was alot of fun and we will definitely do it again, but CM and PF are 2 totally different Character Dining experiences. I would recommend doing them both for a nice change of pace during your stay. We would like to do Crystal Palace also.

We ate here last week and was not as enthusiastic about the food compared to others. The food was OK...nothing great! The omelet and egg 'bar' was very good and the highlight of the buffet for me. I thought the character interaction was good and the restaurant atmosphere is very nice...a bit more upscale than many restaurants featuring characters. I'm glad we tried it and we may be back but overall, we didn't find the food anything special.
